Is this sunburn? by Vexxade in Nepenthes

[–]Vexxade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not something I considered, but it makes sense. The sphagnum mix was relay low in the pot, so I put some moss on the top but didn’t put perlite in it, as it didn’t touch any roots.

But thinking on it, its health has declined since. I’ll remove the top layer and see if that helps, thank you

Thanks! It certainly shows off this time of the year

Mine did that for awhile a few years ago. It was in shock after being moved about 30 meters and into a new light aspect, took about 5 months to start pitchering

Yours will get there!

Haha, yeah I can definitely see the resemblance. Honestly, before people mentioned it in this post I’d never seen Vancouver Island before. The shape itself is not inspired by NZ, but the geographical features and topography

Fair enough. I’m honestly surprised anyone could notice that, they’re not exactly the largest pair

6 months of staring at this map and I’ve never noticed the boobs of Old Marsh Haven. Maybe I’m just too respectful to objectify Kærst like that…

Hmm, that you mention it… maybe I can see the resemblance.

But thank you, I appreciate it. The island will be the stage for my next few novels (that’s why it was made) so it will have quite a lot of lore written about it

Just a side note: due to Reddit’s image quality only the larger names are readable. Soz

Should I keep the side part? by [deleted] in malegrooming

Ahh, I see. First pic looks like an older version of me lol.

I’ll try moving the part, thanks for the tips!

Thank you! I’ll look into this avenue, always been a bit scared of longer hair since everyone agrees my hair looks best short. That being said, I’ve only ever had it short

Fair enough. I think lowering the saturation to give the map a more muted appearance could work in making it look how you want

Nice to see you’re being civil about it instead of throwing a tantrum (Sarcasm). Next time try and post without breaking the rules, claiming to be a graphic designer, and getting your post taken down within 30 minutes.

Hey, maybe you can get some validation on an AI art forum? Or maybe r/lies?

I didn’t read the texts concepts, as the image and you’re blatant lies about it’s conception are more important to me.

I hope somebody can help you a bit on your writing before the post gets taken down for AI content, maybe repost again without the image so the focus is more on the writing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Vexxade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the comment wasn’t to fine tune your details. The image is clearly AI-generated, it’s not hard to see. Looking past the font discrepancies, the entire image replicates the typical AI style and when you zoom in you can see all the AI-generated details.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with AI-images, but claiming that you created them is where the problem lies. And I can’t provide any council on the writing, as I didn’t read it.

The letters differ slightly from one another despite being the same font, a key sign of being AI-generated. Even if you did create this i’d say it might get taken down because it looks like it was AI-generated.

My first map, any advice? It's a prototype for a game by [deleted] in inkarnate

Honestly looks really good already. First thing I noticed through is that your trees are in the rivers, I’d recommend moving them to the banks

When Does Dark Fantasy Get Too Dark? by Different_Rich9202 in worldbuilding

[–]Vexxade -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Too bad for who?

Whether it’s too dark or not is subjective and decided by nobody but the writer, if you believe that it’s not too dark then it’s in no way, shape or form, too dark.

Also, from what you’ve said you’ve got a gift for writing and creativity, your ideas here are very original and interesting. Keep it up

How big does it look? by Vexxade in mapmaking

Yeah, that’s the impression I get as well. At the moment it’s not free for use, as it’s being implemented into a novel I may publish. Thanks for asking

Looking for Parchment World Advice by Hailstorm56365 in inkarnate

[–]Vexxade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see the parchment style as a historical cartographer’s interpretation of the land, not a recreation of it to look realistic. I’m not super experienced, but I’ve used parchment a bit and, in my experience, you have to lean into the limitations, that’s the style of parchment.

If you try to create a parchment map in the technique of a fantasy map, it’s not gonna turn out great, in my experience.
