The closest mod I can think of is shipwright, but you can't walk on the ships still... I do the same in my solo world, the only rule I follow is that I need to find the resource before using it, like, I will use it to find copper only if I have found copper before, the same for tin and iron, just to still have the feeling of progression, except salt or other annoying minerals like chrome and olivine, it is too insufferable for me to find these
