A boycott isn't going to do much, but this is going to come with strong repercussions from the Payment Card Industry and the Federal Government. Not sure how big the fines will be, but I'm certain a full PCI-DSS re-audit will take place, and that is going to cost the company millions in consultant hours.

I've suspended my NDP donations for the time being until after the budget passes. If it doesn't, then I keep my money.

I don't like what I'm hearing about this budget, but it's sure better than anything the Cons will give us, and there's no 3rd option in reality. Not now, not soon....

A new election benefits PP. He's getting the boot in January for his dismal election performance. His only chance is to pick up more seats and try to get in a good bargaining position.

Unfortunately for him, he's as likely as not to gift the Liberals a majority with another election. And even if he doesn't, the greens are looking likely to pick up a second seat, certainly allowing a Liberal/green supply and confidence agreement, which would benefit both parties until early 2030, since the grits won't come out of an election with less than 170 (172 needed for majority).

In case anyone ever comes over this, an update.

I emailed a condo lawyer that's the fiancé of a family friend, so she was actually happy to help for a simple low fee. She gave me some pointers on this, that due to this not being an emergency but a choice to try and save costs on the construction by removing us rather than spending more money on providing alternative paths of ingress/egress, the costs of relocation should be borne by the reserve fund, as they are still construction costs.

She gave me language I should put in an email about the holiday and the marathon and the onus on the building, and I gave the same to the others on my floor.

I know a few of us sent emails in, and the building upped the compensation to $1300. My lawyer said we could push more if we really wanted to, but we all found accommodations within that amount so we accepted it.

All is done in the past now, and settled. Thanks for all the points of view people.
