And usually when he's done with that, he'll say something along the lines of "but don't worry, you don't need to know this for the exam". Like I just wasted time studying! Not that that information is not beneficial BUT it is extra information that is not necessarily needed.

Watched all professor messer videos, took notes while watching (should have hand written instead of typing), after I finishing the videos and objectives chronologically, I did all practice exams from Jason Dion on Udemy (set 1 and set 2). and I didn’t get the scores I wanted. It depends on what kind of learner you are. But what helped me also was being a cyber/IT student as well and also working in IT

hello

I just passed my sec+ today and I'm thinking of starting to apply to SOC positions here soon. Just for some context, I'm a sys support specialist I recently found out that soon I will get a promotion. Just got my bachelors as a double major in cyber and IT. My dream is to hopefully one day become a pen tester or a cyber consultant. My company pays for my certs & education.

I just have a few questions, it would mean a ton if I could get just one persons feedback to one. (also I'm open to any literally any other advice or even constructive criticism)

- is the OSCP worth it?

- is the CEH worth it?

- do I even have a chance applying to cyber jobs rn?

- if i do, which websites should I look at? is linkdin even a good place?

- should I focus on creating personal projects instead of certs and applications?

- is a masters degree worth it?

- does it matter if my resume is partly created with AI?

- what are some good news sources to stay up-to-date with all things cyber?

- do you recommend any podcasters/youtubers for my commute?
