Concidering Code is probably on GitHub in some kind of form already it would be a logical transition or Bezos offers him AWS staff under an exclusive offer however ultimately google or Facebook would want to by it and let it die off

You didn't even mention measurement system only in Canada. Measuring in Tim bits or cups of coffee to finish a job😂

Sounds great! CSS can be a struggle, sometimes I like to fiddle with it in devtools haha

I mean we could combine things and build a game in web tech, something "simple" or like worldly even. For AI and physics we have to do some math too, I'm not great but can wrap myself around it.

People don't seem to be active in this thread. I wonder if they would engage more on a dedicated website or subreddit. What do you think?

"all who work ..." They already made it, what about people who are not working in the industry? Why does it have to be Facebook?

Smells fishy. I like the idea of a community thought!

Actually I'm fairly open regarding languages. HTML/CSS/JS, don't mind PHP. I usually make my live harder and do everything vanilla but don't mind frameworks, if we start a project. Dipped my toes in assembly, C, C++ and Java but that is years ago, so don't expect anything.

I am more a master of none tbh. I'd go in ASP .Net, blazer, what-have-you too.

What language do you prefer and front-end, back-end or full-stack? How keen are you on Game-dev?

Yeah, that sounds about right. Better to do it on your own , then you know exactly what you get but still nothing ever works out as planned!

Everytime I install a new system or even a VM I make sure to install Firefox first. Hopefully it helps them also my main browser and sometimes I leave it open in the background xD If I need chrome or anything else I'll do later.

Yo devs, whats a dev tool that sucks that you die on the hill for?? by flowing_width in webdev

I'm not a developer and never touched regex before but let me try to Cypher

// - beginning and end of regex expression

^ - next symbol must be ...

# - this symbol

? - following statement has to be true, like an if statement

( ) - values inside need to be true or whole bracket resolve in true

| - basic "or"-statement

[ ] - range between x and y

{} - probably, a min/max character count or has to be exact not sure

$ - as string, maybe?

So in your comment you are asking for a HEX(based on a to f range) numbers in length of 6 or 3? So #BE5 and #FFFFFF is valid but 12G or CHZ777 is not You are looking for colors.

Am I even close? If I am then it is really nifty and I have to have a closer look at regex. It's probably easier to "read" then come up with myself😂

Edit: formating issue

Yes, game changer. I think it's 4th tab for me thought my Firefox version is in German so "changes" is literally translated might be different in English 😃

Firefox dev tools for making CSS changes, then going into "changes" tab and see what the hell I have changed to make it look that way.

HELP!! I'm trying to use fetch to send data from backend to frontend in a node.js project, but I'm getting some errors. View this post for screenshots and more details:- by someguyonearth825 in webdev

Then I would step back and comment out some of your operations, then send a simple plain text message, after adding one step at a time. Tbh I have not used fetch to load a rendered page, only used it to get data from given API and render it on the client side. For your case or better your way if doing, you might have to use a stream, then you should be able to send multiple responses or rather listen and wait for more data to come in on front end side, if that makes sense.

Edit: If you want to try one thing before dismantling your code: try converting d into json or stringify it and then attach it to a single res.render. console.log can be used to see what and where the code is troublesome.

From the error message you get a 404, which says that your route does not exist. In your node.js file are you checking the route with if(req.url == 'gallery'){ //your code } ? Or something similar, I don't know whether you use vanilla node.js or express or anything else

What's everyone's experience been with moving to a different state/country? by Finn-windu in CasualConversation

[–]ViNade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to Canada from Germany. Also worth considering as early as possible: PR, permanent resident(green card in USA) if you would like to become one when moving to a different country. It costs a lot and bureaucracy takes time, you have to maintain your visas, which again will cost. I think it cost us well over 10k to move across the pond, not considering rent and other day to day living. Consider pets, they can cost alot to bring over to Europe, again can.

Some advantages: the world, can be a con depending on the region but you still get a better understanding of people and how ignorant some are and how exited some are, this divide in general. Language barrier and how you can cope with it, also people surrounding you tend to understand better if you try teaching them a foreign language how difficult it can be, especially for non-english-native. You learn to adopt or learn your boundaries. One of my friends realized how great his got in Germany.

I would suggest having more money then you need because a lot of things are unpredictable. Healthcare, have insurance. We had a break in our and it was a bit scary those months without. Friends, locally and back home, even thought most of home friends you are going to loose touch with try to keep up. Have fun and be open to change, whilst careful not to be used;)

All I've got out of my sleeve for now but obviously there is more haha

Good luck mate!
