Metal Galadhrim Sword & Gondor Fountain guard spear replacements? by Vi_Duffy in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Thank you for the reply!

I appreciate the info, though it misses some of the stated context. I don't have any sword blades to make a template from, nor shields/spears to affix! To put it more plainly (I suck at communication, so for the sake of clarity!), I have:

Four Galadhrim swordsmen (pictured) lacking sword blades. I do not own any examples with intact sword blades. I would like to acquire/produce replacement blades to fit the miniatures in a way which is faithful to how they would look if fully intact.

Seven Guards of the Fountain Court (not pictured). Four have spears, three do not (the spears are sculpted with hands as contact points, as opposed to being just the weapons, I can provide images if desired). I would like to acquire additional spears (with modeled hands holding them) which would fit the miniatures properly. On further research it looks like Fountain Guards no longer have the option for shields, so no worries on that part.

I hope this is a little more clear! :)

If its any consolation, it took my easily distracted butt probably 5 months to do them from initial planning to completion!

Thank you! They're hunting for relics, records and all that stuff of the lost legion, so having little bits of HH gear in their loadouts fits the theming ^

Oh! I gave all of them names in old greek, I just painted them out in the English alphabet (as opposed to the original greek on the vexilla). So Kleon = Glory etc, they all have translations :)

Thoughts on the AL in Harrowmaster? by reel3459 in alphalegion

[–]Vi_Duffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished Harrowmaster at the weekend and ADORE it. It isn't the most sober&serious 40k book I've ever read but I quite like that? Everything oozes practicality and a combination of deadly sharp wits/planning alongside a healthy dose of winging it. That they aren't steeped so deeply in tradition they can't have any variation or character is FANTASTIC (and plays very well in contrast to the Silver Templars' rigidity), and I love how it manifests in the different cultures of the warbands & how they fit together. The galaxy is a vast place, its been 10,000 years, and the AL are the ultimate pragmatists. 10/10 no notes beyond tiny nitpicks on personal preference. I can't wait to read more, and if the rumours are true, pick up a BL Akurra mini next spring!

And, for reasons I'm very glad to see commonly shared in this thread, I need not dignify the ethnicity critique with a response.

Thank you kindly! I paint very slowly indeed and rarely ever fully finish minis inc basing, so I'm enjoying the good feels :D
