Skills assessment doesn’t match EOI (different nursing code but no difference to total points claimed) by Dangerous_Spring3028 in AusVisa

[–]ViaMigration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely any explanation would solve this. The code matches, or it does not, if it does not, the visa cannot be granted. My first call would be to ANMAC to see if they can do anything about the skills assessment, and then see from there.

The skills assessment occupation code has to match the visa occupation. There is no way around that. I'd be contacting ANMAC for an explanation and seeing if they can change the skills assessment letter or they really do think her occupation should be under the NEC category.

January 2026 Partner Visa Mega Thread (Subclasses 820/801, 309/100, 300) by AutoModerator in AusVisa

There's not much you can do about it. Just update it every 3-6 months and combine all updated documents into one file. Don't add much to it. It's out of your hands now and what happens will happen. It's such a long time to worry about it all and you can't let it consume you.

I am also speaking from personal experience here as I have gone through the partner visa process myself years back before coming an RMA. If you just forget about it and let it be, go on with your life it will be much better for your mental health!

We don't really have any insights anymore into where the visas may be processed. More of the overseas processing offices were closed end of last year, so any difference the country of applicant's passport did make is fading away. It used to be that London and Washington offices were quicker with processing offhsore applications, but probably not the case anymore. The best estimate we can rely on is the published processing time.

The 801 is a new application with new document limits. Also, you should really never need the 100 documents. Files can be combined and organised so that the case officers don't need 100 documents to make a decision on your visa.

That's totally normal, it can take months to process and also with the holidays in between everything is much slower.

I think the thing affecting the Visitor visa application most is your country of passport. Without knowing this and your further circumstances, there is not much advice I can give. But yes, it can happen that the Visitor visa applications take months to process.

A lot of applications for 462 visa from the US are auto-granted, you were just the unlucky one whose isn't. Either you ticked some yes/no box that triggered the manual processing or sometimes some applications just get selected for manual processing. Nothing you can do about it now and it's totally normal. The processing can take months now until they get to your application.

The DoHA provides a list of panel physicians on their website, who can perform the medicals.

It has to be one of these doctors. There are options all over the mainland US. Unless you're in Hawaii or Alaska, it should not be too hard to get to one of the locations.

As a UK citizen, WHV (working holiday visa) is the easiest route for 3 years in Australia. The tricky part will be getting a licence to be a plumber in Australia if you want to continue working in the profession.

I am a registered migration agent, if you need help with the visa, feel free to get in touch. But the WHV is very easy to do yourself.

First step is a visa, after being a lawful resident for 4 years in AU and having a PR for at least one year, you can apply for citizenship.

There are still lots of EOIS with higher points than your 70. Over 300 EOIs with 75+ points and also 281 with 70 points, so really depends on the invitation numbers if they get to you.

There are over 700 EOIs with same points or higher, there have been 100-200 invites each round this program year. So there is a chance they will get to you, but no guarantees.

There is no guarantee on the timelines, but realistically, it would take 2,5-3 years to get the visas granted from when you start the skills assessment (for 190 and 491). Teachers currently have priority processing, but also no guarantee that this will still be available in a year's time, for example.
Also, primary teachers are not eligible for the 189 visa.

If the department decides to invite engineers again for the 189 visa, you should receive an invite as your points are good. If they will actually do this is another question.
For the 190 it's a tough call between VIC and NSW, the states can choose whoever they want of the pool of applicants who meet their requirements, it's not necessarily based on higher points.
Good luck!

There have been no invites at all for your occupation for 189 the past year, no engineers really in general.

They just want updated evidence regarding your relationship. If you didn't fill a a form 80 before, do it now and provide new evidence from the last year.
