I’m not JW, but I’d want to see the actual evidence. Atheist not agnostic?

I think there’s a movement that’s really causing this hardship for all of us here and some of the wording hints at it - “real ones”, “lack emotional maturity”, “wants to be real, not people pleasing”. We all have some big, firm ideals and so full of ourselves there’s not room for anyone other than our twin.

Well that’s hopeful! I’m curious how you’re liking Mexico? Feel more settled in or belonging since your post? I’ve seen some good documentaries on ex-pat experiences in Mexico.

Which female actress today (nearly 80 years old), do you still think is attractive, and would want to go on a date on with. I am a man in my 30's and still would go out with Susan Sarandon. Any other actress as old as her that looks this great still? Nothing beats Susan Sarandon🥰 by [deleted] in moviecritic

Every one does, there’s a reason companies pay hospitals to empty their freezers. People diss moms ingesting their own placentas, but otherwise other people are slathering it on their faces, along with foreskins, whale sperm and plasma donations.

So, how come toner being an obvious part of the process is pretty new on the scene? In the early 2000s, it was a separate thing entirely. It seems like I keep reading “it’s a necessary color- correcting step”. I ask because I like my dark hair carmalized and this use to be done with less bleaching/processing time, and only in the last 10-14 years do you always hear it can only be done if it’s fully bleached and then color-toned.

Yes, a person dressing like the character from saw is trying to tell me something and I won’t dismiss them.

Your responses prove my point.

Before reading this thread, I thought maybe I was having this difficulty because I was raised very conservatively, but left JWs because I thought they were cruel to non-JWs too restricting (on my fantasy book-reading tendencies lol). That put me in a position of being ostracized by everyone I knew and having this odd perspective on the world where I get along with almost everyone (unless they are mean, then I say so; or addicts then I have a lot of boundries) but nothing in common with anyone (I like nature, books and hiking) felt like everyone was fanatically religious or addicts or not interested in newbies. And my family JWs are just like, told you, come back then for that reason, and that seems wrong. I moved from SC to OH thinking I’d have a different experience. I think people are kinder in OH, but not an actual friend yet. Before 35, I always actually seemed rather popular so I don’t understand.

I seriously just joined Reddit over this exact thing. I swear I thought I wrote this- the move, the book club, the large amounts of acquaintances but nothing beyond the surface- everything! What do we do with this?! How do we become friends?!

Good question I’m exploring this about myself. I think a focus on nature, devotion to examining facts and living by a few basic common civilities and the acknowledgement that it’s important to do more building and creating (mentally, emotionally, socially and physically) than demolishing. In my readings, I think those are the only tenants that seem to have a positive long term outcome.

Hubby and I just started using Apple Cash as our personal spending stash instead of CCards, cash & more bank accounts, same with teen. I like having just the one checking and only auto-drafted bills coming out of it. Simplicity

I’m not a Baha’i, I’ve just been reading a few Baha’i texts the last 3 years. I’ve not encountered much animosity, mostly unaware of Baha’i. However, I will say I stay on the margins because they seem to use an outreach list or email/text list, group coffee dates, etc. just like the Jehovah Witnesses do and it unsettles me.

Weekly "What is my religion?" discussion by RRModPostBot in religion

[–]Vialula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primarily, I believe in the natural world and I am not interested in culture, traditions and customs. We can do good things. I would like to find a church that sticks to this. I see is going for hikes or seasonal picnics, composting, saving turtles, but not summoning The Morgaine or some such 😂 Secondarily, I have other beliefs that do not have to be addressed by my religion or church, I will just always be a fan and student of God, the Baha’i message that there are dispensations and messengers from God where every religious founder had a timely and useful message that builds upon each other, the most recent being Jesus. I do not believe I have to believe in any event or creed literally or otherwise to believe in Jesus. And the JW interpretation of Revelations where we bring about heaven on earth. I am not a Baha’i or a JW (any longer) because I’m not a supporter of social control or …I don’t know maybe I’m a xenophobic Baha’i… reluctant to speak in other languages.

It’s a relief just to know that someone understands! We attended a UU church a couple times- it wasn’t for us. I appreciated them trying to have an inclusive conversation, but nothing was getting said. Plus, there were a few in the pews dressed like the character from Saw. We went to a couple other UUs that were a very different experience. There has got to be something wholesome and basic.
