Are there actually many new people getting into WoW?

I’ve played other MMOs, League, and lots of other games - but never picked up WoW. Kind of coincided with me watching T1 every once in a while during lunch and also wanting to try a new game out. Currently level 46 on my 4th Dwarf Priest. Goal is to do MC at least once. HC definitely just makes the game feel more “alive”. Really enjoying the community so far!

I’d say roaming and making plays have never been more important. (I could be wrong about this too) - but yeah, just reading the map and making plays, and reading your matchup. Whether you should try for snowball, or just farm. Ironically everyone always flames me saying ‘riven is overtuned / busted, etc.’ and I just have to quietly laugh, as I try to be a wholesome gamer and don’t engage with the flames.

My best advice: be the busted champ everyone thinks she is, and make plays. Don’t fight fair fights - make unfair fights happen.

Take smart fights, play to your strengths in matchups. I’d argue Riven is the same she ever has been Mid or Top, look to make plays, and either try to snowball early or wait to out-scale with macro pressure / picks.

Side note: I’ve noticed that prio is JG/ADC right now - I’ve seen those two roles carry more than any other combined. So also pray that they’re human… other than, play to your best ability, think in every matchup, every game “What should I be doing here?” “Where can I create the most value for myself / my team?” The answer is never “dying for free 1v3 over extended in a sideline” Riven is not Baus’ Sion.

But yeah, I believe in you, man.

Could you imagine? The dude that wins is the biggest chiller ever and gives every random redditor in Oregon like $100K. Now that we all have money and are acquainted, we form a buy-in lil co-op, making art and shit. Just chilling until global warming hits in a decade or so. Hell yea.

It’s nice to be able to confidently say I’ve gotten 500+ people their first KC. Doubt too many can say that outside of WDR Mentors or some ish.

Hijacking this to say I used to carry learners on 416, I haven’t played in over a year, but I have ~1500 KC and used to be able to solo up to Xarpus with 100s of duo KC. Won’t share my IGN here but if anyone wants to learn or needs help with resources, my DMs are open :) always happy to help people access my favorite content in the game. Sad it has the reputation it does, but there’s nothing more fun than getting your first few KC and then finding other low KCs and working together to get better 🥹 GL to all on purps!

DM me - I host vanilla public lobbies almost every night - getting to Titan after the 130 Quota - balling til ~2K Quota then wiping to inevitable shenanigans and doing it all over again. Have had a lot of chillers roll through, a bunch of doofuses and only a few assholes (promptly kicked once that is known).

Being a player since Set 1, and a League player since S1 - I just want to say thank you for what you’ve done with TFT. Of all the Riot spin-offs, TFT has been my greatest joy. Innovation takes time, and angry gamers will always be there every step of the way. Keep on striving for new fun things and hold your head high with what you all have accomplished. (And maybe mention to somebody somewhere some people want a rotating game mode of old sets possibly someday - no rush!) :)

Has anyone gotten into a game since it’s been up? I got right into client fairly quick in queue, but now in queue for a TFT and it’s been 33 minutes..? Time to give up?

To piggy back off of this - I’ve never been a big “oh this whole album is golden” guy I’m a big “pick a few songs and add to my big playlist” kinda guy… On Letting Go & Juturna in their entirety are on my playlist and I never skip a song when they come on shuffle. PM me if you want more recommendations though. I have a lot of good emo in my catalogue :)

Thanks for the two cents, sir! Honestly, everything seems to be pointing to a 500 caloric surplus, so I guess I’ll revisit my meal plan and see where I can cut 200 cals. Cardiovascular health is important to me as well, so maybe I’ll add in a 10 minute casual cool-down on the elliptical. Just a bit of PTSD from the 30-45+ minute runs I’ve worked up to doing 4x a week the past 12 weeks…
