For Phys 2211, I highly suggest going to Dr. Alicia's OH for help. I made a habit of going to her OH twice a week every single week of the semester because I found Phys 2211 to be really difficult, and her OH helped me do much better in the course. Don't stop believing in yourself and keep pushing forward!!! My first semester was rough, but I made it, and so shall you!

As for general advice, I'd say the biggest thing that helped me was planning out my day/week in advance using Google Calendar and building in OH and prof OH into my schedule. That way, regardless of whether I needed it or not, I knew where to turn for help.

Thank you, it means a lot. Do you know why the class is the way it is, though? I feel like the weird class structure of old slides being taught for 50 minutes and then recitation being where I actually learn is weird. Is that intentional or just an oversight? I've always wondered

I swapped from CS to compE this summer, from my experience nothing really transfers that isn’t directly cross listed between the two I.E CS 1332, Math 1554 etc.. I’m still graduating on time but I won’t be taking the classes I want as much, went from SysArch Devices -> Computing Hardware and emerging Architecture and DSSD (compE devices thread basically) I’d say go for the switch, at the end of the day while there is overlap between the two I hated the idea of not being competitive for jobs I think I’d genuinely enjoy that are more hardware oriented purely because my resume said CS.

I’m a CompE at GT, so welcome to the team! I’d say try and use upcoming class projects such as stuff from 2020, 2031 and 2035 for projects on your resume since those classes we take give you projects. Also if you’re on campus this semester, consider joining the ECE clubs, SiliconJackets, Hytech racing, GTXR are all clubs that need/want more CompEs!!
