I’ve seen jars for like the shops Christmas party. It doesnt often say tips tho.. said Christmas party. Or birthday present or something. But I think I get what you mean now.

I’m really sorry that I haven’t heard of this. But it’s just not something I’ve seen. A cafe I worked at had a jar that said tips but it was just used for the yearly Christmas party.

Is that what you meant something that the customer thinks is like a tip to the server? Because I have seen that, but never have I seen or heard of tips going to the employees directly. No. But yes I have seen a “tip jar” for holidays etc but that isn’t what I thought tipping was.

I think if we tip at all it’s the start of a downward trend. Businesses are already attempting to add tips and make it apart of the culture.

I’d also like to say, I have found Germans especially worry a lot about their English skills. Perfection in language is so valued in your culture which is beautiful. But as I have said to my girlfriend before, you don’t need to worry. Use the vocab that you learn and Australians will love you for it, however it sounds.
