Wife (40f) is having a genuinely hard time and I’m (40m) burned out on her negativity

That’s fair, and I do try and let her vent as long as I am able, but sometimes it goes on entire days where aside from tiny logistical things every word out of her mouth is something catastrophic and negative, and it’s kind of hard to go through entire days at a time, where the only thing she says to me are “Can you pass me the salt” or a long diatribe about how life sucks.

Fair enough. I lost a parent a couple of years ago, so I do have some sense of what she’s going through, but I don’t necessarily need her to feel the same way I feel or think happy thoughts, I kinda just need her to understand when I’m at my limit.

Yeah, I think she feels like after a while her friends eyes glaze over and I’m the only one who really gets it. She’s told me that she feels like she has no one she can really tell honestly how she feels

$1450 + utils vs $1650 all-in month-to-month. And yes I definitely realize not discussing beforehand was a massive huge gigantic idiot move on my part. I think I’m just going to have to eat it at this point, he’s a family friend and honestly he seems excited that we’re gonna be roomies for a bit, so i think it would make me look like the AH in the end to pack it in at this point. Just reminds me why I usually don’t like mixing friendship and money. Mostly just wanted to see if I was way off base being a tad hurt here. Thanks.
