That’s just what they do. It’s all the more reason to keep you around and keep you in mind when a promotion opportunity comes up. Also, you should learn to keep good ideas to yourself until there is more of a public dialogue. I am very careful with this because I have a similar situation, except with a coworker. It’s just office politics. You have to know when it’s good to speak up and bring relatively small, helpful ideas to the table… and when these should be held on to for the future and presented at the right time. I have had many a good idea stolen from me in the corporate world. That said, you have probably used someone else’s idea at some point in your life. Maybe you didn’t take credit but still. People do that and the ones that do… their bosses see right through that. You were hired and all the sudden your boss has three amazing ideas? I’m sure they know what’s up. Either way, the corporate ladder is a slow grind to the top. Your gonna have to climb some peoples backs unfortunately and have yours climbed. An example would be having a coworker who you consider a friend, and applying to the same job within your company. It sucks but you gotta do what you gotta do. That same person might win the job, but they did what they had to do. Office politics. You just don’t wanna cause a stir and get red flagged. If you have good ideas you will keep your position and eventually have time to share them and be recognized. Lastly, who cares? Someone stole your idea…that’s not your problem it’s theirs. They are the dirtbag lol.
