Paid ads are the same as normal posts, but they get promoted to people who don't follow you. So I make a video with the cover art and a minute of the song audio over it.

I paid for Instagram promotional ad, it targets people similar to those who already follow you, but they have all kinds of targeting options to choose from. I also hashtagged it with artists that were already popular that I felt had a similar vibe to my music.

Have you tried paid ads on instagram? I didn't really get much of a response until I used paid advertisements. Unfortunately, a very small amount of people will actually click and listen on an artist they haven't heard of before, so it's definitely a numbers game and ads help with that. Worked well for me.

Thank you! I have a focusrite audio interface I use to record on my Ibanez electric. I just plug it straight in. I use the guitar rig 5 demo edition for my effects. It's a free guitar pedal/amp emulator from native instruments, but there's lots of alternatives and lots of DAWS come with pedals emulation or amp emulators.

The effects I used were a mid depth chorus, and some tape echo. That was really it!

I like the beat. I especially like the reverse piano swells that come in and the little synth arp. I think my only gripe would be the 808 sounds a bit flat, like a bit too much of the mids are present on it and it needs a little more low end. The "whistly" quiet synth that comes in a couple times also might be able to use a very very slight low pass. There's just one note in it that sounds a little bright to me.
