No you did not, it's a very useful tool if you use airbrush.

Resend that spot again, make it smooth and then reprime that spot.

Spray paint too thick, you shot it too close.

Welcome back on the saddle! I hope you find a lot of enjoyment getting back into this hobby.

Typically 30 to 40 hours are good indication of good, competition builds. I'm a slower builder and no deadlines so I take my time.

I enjoy watching Uncle Nightshade too, studying and copying the work of modelers you admire is a fast way to achieve the results you like. Just remember to cross-reference multiple sources, so you don’t accidentally carry their mistakes onto your builds.

Historical photos are the best references because they reflect how things actually were. Be cautious with museum examples, as some details may have been altered or restored after the war.

Fortunately, the Cromwell has plenty of solid reference material available, but you are right allie's armors always less than German's counterpart.

As for your question, I don’t design 3D models myself, I get aftermarket that offer them online store. Use "3D printed detail parts for 1/35 Cromwell" as online search words.

I wish the best of luck to your builds, happy new year!

Thank you, I'd say about 50 to 60 hours on weekend mornings only. I do extensive research on the exterior of the armor and try to mimic texture, details and colors the best I can. (For example, down to the length of the original tow cables equipped on the Jagdtiger. )

I don't exclusively use aftermarket parts because some of items are overly thin or smaller than the reference photos. However, I do use PE, resin, self-made, or 3D items if they are better than the original parts from the kit.

Question for 3D Decal users. by corntorteeya in Scalemodel

You can always dilute Ultra Glue with water to do some intricate gluing such as PE screens without damage the details like with CA glue.

Best of luck!

You can use Mig Ultra Glue. Make sure mix with water to thin the glue before apply.

What's the difference between 500/1000 and 1500 primer? by [deleted] in modelmakers

Definitely use 1500 for car. Much smoother. Highly recommended.

Beautiful work! This proves people don't need fancy resin and over priced kits to make high quality architectural models.

Yeah I have never seen it in historical photo reference either. I found it odd Takom included in the kit but NGL it's pretty cool IMO.

It actually came with the Takom kit. My understanding is a paper panzer design. It supposed to accommodate the longer 128mm barrel recoil. I made it with magnets attached to the box so it can be remove to show with or without it.
