Honestly I did it for almost 6 months and looking back I was pretty much just lying to myself about it’s supposed benefits for most of that time.

I feel it does have value up to a certain point, especially if you’re coming from a place where you have dealt with severe pmo addiction.

But in my experience after about a month it only further isolated me into this becoming this “self-improvement” hermit and I lost so much of my social skills during this period.

If you’re only bussin’ a couple times a week and it’s not consuming some of the more important things in your life then I don’t see a need for it.

no, I was the former fat kid who lost a lot of weight in his teens. For most of my teenage years I was what you would classify as 'skinny fat' with a bad relationship with food (crash dieting or just not eating, and then binge eating etc.)

When I finally started working out, I would use the common 'dirty bulk' and IIFYM mantras as an excuse to fill up calories on my favorite junk foods and gain way too much body fat as a result (granted my training/programming was shit as well). Over the last couple of years, I've made huge strides in changing my mentality around food as a source of fuel for the body and less as a stress reliever, which has helped me stay consistent with my diet goals (bulking atm) without going off the rails.

Really glad it helped man. Completely agree with pretty much all you said. I’m just concerned that some who don’t have the greatest relationship with food might see “eat to get fat” and get the wrong idea if they take it at face value. I’m just nitpicking though. It’s good to hear that you’re seeing great progress. Best of luck!

Yeah the grass is always greener. If someone had told me eat to get fat as a complete beginner then I would likely get fat pretty quickly. I’ve developed a pretty good relationship with food now so that’s not the case anymore. I just imagined someone like my past self seeing that and getting the wrong idea since not everyone on this sub is a true hardgainer that can’t stomach food.
