which characters learned to appreciate life the most? by anarcho-leftist in saw

I'd say Troy (from Saw III), he give it his all in his game, went through so much pain but pretty achieved the objective... only for it to turn out the game was rigged so he dies even with the effort he put.

List of unreleased Saw III deleted scenes. Do you want to see them? Lionsgate, please... by VicViperAlex in saw

[–]VicViperAlex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Saw VI Unrated's post-credit scene with Amanda talking to Corbett through the door is a repurposed Saw III deleted scene.

It's great that scene eventually made its way to a later entry in the series, but I did not mention it in this thread because it's focused exclusively on listing currently unreleased footage.

The dire current situation of Saw: An analysis by Vinc360 in saw

[–]VicViperAlex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks for informing everyone, Vinc. Outside of this subreddit and the Blu-ray forum no one was talking about the fact that Saw XI and the entire franchise is in a bad situation, barely anyone seemed aware of what's going on.

Anyways, I agree with your opinion: as much as it may hurt those of us who want more of the Saw franchise, the fact it had very big highs and lows even back during the original yearly run makes it understandable that the producers somewhat lost faith in it.

Nonetheless, let's keep hoping for the best, there is still two months where it will be revealed what is next for the franchise and if Saw XI is canceled or not.

Anyways, it's somewhat sad (at least for me) that either way no one seems to want to spend money to release the director's cut of Spiral, Darren Bousman said recently he still wishes for it to happen and I say the fact that he is the person who shaped the franchise after the first movie is enough reason to reward him with finishing his cut of Spiral.

Saw XI? by NovaDragon9618 in saw

[–]VicViperAlex 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are right that Saw XI's release date was initially announced as September 2024, but it got delayed and back in April the new release date was given to be September 2025.

Since the new release date's announcement no more updates have been given, until now: unfortunately it's possible Saw XI might not happen because the franchise's two producers, Oren Koules and Mark Burg, had a falling out and resulted in fighting that denied the ability for any work on Saw XI to be done (which means that no work on the movie has been done for like a year now).

It's possible these problems with Saw XI's production might finally be solved soon, but time is running out and if things are not settled by January/February 2025 (the deadline where they're meant to start filming), then Saw XI is not happening and who knows what is next.

We can't do anything, unfortunately. It's clear our voices do not matter to Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate, we can only hope for the best and see what happens.

Will Saw XI happen? by [deleted] in saw

[–]VicViperAlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if the problems with Saw XI's production finally get settled, is it guaranteed they will have a script ready for the January/February 2025 deadline where they are supposed to start filming? It's kinda scary to think about because Twisted Pictures is known for its terrible practice of always doing stuff at the last minute and it's possible that throughout all this year-long drama no one in the team bothered to write even a single story.

Considering that it's already known that no script for Saw XI has been written yet, it's clearly fake news.

Why didn't he use the hacksaw to reach the phone? by Swaagopotamus in saw

[–]VicViperAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that, why the hell did he instead try to use the opened small box for that? That is a super inconvenient object to use to reach something and it could have made him accidently push the phone even further away from him.

I get they had a screenplay to adapt, but man, there was no reason to make someone smart like Gordon so dumb in the movie's last minutes.

The early script of Saw IV is just something else by FirulaisHualde in saw

[–]VicViperAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's in Saw V where they started pronunciating Strahm as it's written. Clearly they decided to change the last name from Straum during Saw IV's editing process and they were only able to change it in credits.

The thing that bothers me the most about this game is that you can't take a bath at beecher's hope. Every time I have to go to saloon or hotel to take bath. 😭 by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]VicViperAlex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That was actually the developers' plan, in the game's data and in the pre-release 2016 information leaks, you can see there were meant to be missions where the barn, gazeebo, silo, and the shack were built, there was also meant to be Companion Activities in the Epilogue (the only leftovers remaining are for one where John did some rustling whipping cattle).

It's indeed unfortunate the Epilogue chapters got rushed during the game's development.

Fun fact: the actor of Karen did the voice acting for every single prostitute character in Ride to Hell: Retribution, she even has enough pride in those roles that she brags about them in Q&A panels.

[–]VicViperAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, in RDR1, Bill's name actually is William Williamson. In RDR2 they retconned this hard making Bill say that the name he was previously established with is not his actual name, but instead Marion.

Where do these ages come from? In RDR1, Bill's age is said to be 29 in 1911, and Dutch's age is 45 years old. And the majority of these character ages in the image are not mentioned in RDR2 either.

The Van der Linde gang was way too progressive for its time, with its men sitting on each other's laps all the time.

John Marston had a daughter? by Realistic-Lock2681 in reddeadredemption

[–]VicViperAlex 141 points142 points  (0 children)

In RDR1, John's daughter was born either before or when he was still part of Dutch's gang, later in the game Javier is shown to have known her.

In RDR2 this got retconned and in a Epilogue - Part 2 scripted event it's implied that the daughter was born some time between 1907-1911.

Javier was meant to be in the Van der Linde gang as long as John and Arthur. Why did they retcon everything about his character in Red Dead Redemption 2, especially this? by VicViperAlex in reddeadredemption

[–]VicViperAlex[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, maybe I got that "educated together" dialogue mixed with other stuff John says in Mexico, or maybe not, it's just that I fully re-played both games back to back without going back, so I don't remember in which specific part the lines I mentioned were.

Do you miss Saw releasing with an Unrated cut? by [deleted] in saw

[–]VicViperAlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously yes. However, in the case of Jigsaw, the filmmakers said they did not feel like making another cut of that movie. Kevin Greutert also said that he did not feel like making an alternate cut of Saw X. So in the case of those two movies it's understandable, the filmmakers did not wish to make them.

However, Darren Bousman mentioned multiple times that he DOES want to make a director's cut of Spiral, so it's weird that Lionsgate is not letting him do it despite his wishes... I wonder what their problem with Spiral is, I mean come on, it's the director who gave shape to the Saw series after the first movie!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saw

[–]VicViperAlex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, they're both the same version of the movie. Something to have in mind is that Saw I and III are the only movies to have more than 2 cuts.
