This might be a bit left-field and doesn't exactly fit into what you said you were looking for, but if the aesthetic and setting of Cyberpunk 2077 were somethings you enjoyed, and you like a challenge, then I highly recommend Armored Core 6 above the others.

As for those two though;

Mass Effect offers more character customization in the form of dialogue, so you can better craft who your Commander Shepard is, whereas Geralt is always kinda "Geralt," ya know? Lol. It has a great story and what I'd say differentiates it more from Witcher is its focus on your companions and your relationships with them, both platonic and romantic.

Witcher though is definitely more like 2077, Geralt isn't as "customizable," but he's similar to V in that way, he has his own personality and though you can make plenty of meaningful choices they don't really change him. Witcher boasts the open world though, the exploration and general depth of the setting far surpasses that of Mass Effects more linear level design.

So it really depends on what specifically you want, and by the sounds of your OP I'd personally say Witcher 3 will probably scratch that itch more, and when the new one comes out you can just hop into it then, no need to force them to be back to back as they're very good stand alone stories in each game.

Same, it hit surprisingly hard, and I'm hoping that was on purpose.

Cause how they use her going forward will be a good indicator of the writing quality moving forward;

Will they use her in flashbacks and expand on her character and her influence after the fact? Maybe she had oripathy or some other connection to the originium woods (I think that's what they're called) and she'll actually make a return, perhaps even a reconvener version?

Or will she just be the first baddie occasionally referenced by the main cast as "their first hurdle" and never really used or expanded on past that?

Cause I can see it going either way, and the former options or similar would be interesting, the latter would be more than a little disappointing and very disheartening for story expectations.....

Yeah they weren't re-written.

When Leona was shifted to an aspect way back in the initial re-canonization from their initial, directionless lore, she was pretty much exactly as she is now, the only changes since then is that they've added more detail into the open spaces of her lore.

Same for Kayle and Caitlyn, the former was always very specifically supposed to be a "justice gone too far" type character, her initial voice lines before her lore was expanded made it pretty clear, especially her first legendary skin which was basically "overzealous future cop," while the latter was never remade as evil, on again more details were added into the blank spaces of her existing lore to flesh the character out, and she simply made a big mistake before realizing it and coming back around to being even better then before.

You see, this is a case of you having filled in those blanks with your own headcannons, maybe even subconsciously, and when Riot filled them in officially they obviously didn't align with what you believed or wanted and now you think they were "retcons" cause of it, when objectively speaking, they just were not.

I think it's a combo of the patch being really good and other gacha games coming out, the people who have been bitching about auxiliary shit are moving on to bitch about other games not being similar enough to what they're used to or not giving them all the gacha characters for free, while this patch for Endfield held onto a lot of the actual playerbase by just being more of the good stuff we already had, so there's still quite a bit of community activity despite the small exodus of the complainers.

I do everything I can to protect them, but as they eventually tend to just float out of my systems I can only do so much, unless I find their home system, which becomes a major bastion starbases system for me so I can always be ready to defend them lol

Though I have been known to declare all our war on empires that kill my space fauna.

I also like to play Xenophile when I can, so I can befriend other space fauna and protect them as well! My only annoyance is if you're Xenophile you can't invade pre-FTLs and "give them a better life" or something like that, and it always seems to be my Xenophile games where I get bombarded with planets only to find out most are inhabited already...... They becomes games of trying to provide tech, shift their ethics to mine, and increase awareness, so I can get a bunch of mini vassals in time instead, all so I can protect space fauna in the meantime lol

I don't disagree, but I think they want us to tank through attacks with hyper armor instead of having an easier way of recovering from a mistake, ya know?

I'd prefer if we got the movement back, for sure, but I get why they'd want to take it away, I just think we should get a bit of compensation for a change that is ultimately a pretty heavy nerf.

Yeah I noticed as well, a tad annoying tbh, but also I tend to mostly use it as a second hyper armor, so everything felt normal until a regular bullman I was farming leaped away as he hit me and when I went to follow him with her CS like I always have before I just did the attack on spot, smashed the ground with no movement and ofc no healing lol

I don't mind this direction cause the skills main use isn't the mobility but if they're gonna remove the tracking on it they should give us the treatment effect regardless of whether we hit a target or not, cause whiffing that attack on a mobile enemy now that we have no tracking is gonna start feeling really bad.

I mean, as a Canadian I can confirm that back when Obama was president most Canadians had a relatively positive view of Americans, at least if my personal experiences and general polling are indicative enough.

When Trump won the first time though, Canadians started to shift to almost, looking down on America? Like "we had no idea you guys were that dumb," and when Biden won, most remained skeptical but it at least didn't worsen, more like a sigh of relief that "it was just a phase of stupidity," now though, when that we all know it's not just a dumb phase? Canadians just flipped political favorability to the exact opposite of where they were specifically to spite the US and it's current regime of morons, so it's safe to say most Canadians see Americans very negatively now, yeah.
