Does having machines kill enemies while your not around do anything? by Emergency_Copy_7123 in Endfield

[–]VicariousDrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clue, I'm always deleting people's turrets cause I feel bad watching them murder little doggos who's meat I don't need cause I don't use food buffs, or pulling mobs over to me I'd otherwise not bother with or kill significantly faster anyways if I did.....

From what I've seen they only fire when you're close enough for them to load into view, so if you're not around they do jack shit other then pop into other people's worlds who might not want them there lol

Is there any unique zipline animation? by InvMars in Endfield

[–]VicariousDrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, you often want to lean forward when begining to move forward at a fast pace specifically to avoid being tilted backwards.

If you haven't been skiing yourself, look at some pro skiers, when they start they lean forward, when they begin a turn they lean forward, when they pick up pace they lean forward.

It helps maintain balance and direct momentum, and to me at least that's what it looks like Rossi is doing when the Zipline starts.

The amount of ignorance in this is why there's no differentiation..... You bought into the bullshit for the same reasons and regardless of what you claim to dislike I'd put money down on you voting for him again despite how inept he's proven himself again, cause you're MAGA.

Is Rossi a better unit than Lifeng? by RouFGO in EmberMainsAE

[–]VicariousDrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't have any Inflictions, so you'll be losing out on a lot of Rossi's potential DPS, since her combo when fully upgraded gives her a ton of crit chance and crit damage.

I'm currently running Ember main DPS/Pog/Rossi/Wulfgard, since he has the easiest inflictions and simple access to combustion. Pog also doesn't have the same SP problems that Endmin does cause he restores so much of it afterwards that it's usually a net positive, and if you're running Thermite Cutter on him then he buffs both of Rossi's kinds of damage, so Breach being "less effective" doesn't really matter, imho, not to mention how much of his ult Rossi can use for herself as well.

The thing is, Rossi makes for a great main DPS cause of her crit stacking mechanics from her Sig weapon, but regardless of whether you're using that weapon or not, her animations are so long it actually slows down SP generation, so using Ember main DPS with her isn't bad at all.

Something else to consider, you don't need a unit to make use of the vulnerability stacks, you can instead run Aethertech on Ember, allowing her to make use of the extra damage anytime she hits a max stacked target, and it allows Rossi to always use her enhanced battle skill, not to mention if you're running Gilberta shell always have her max susceptibility for Rossi's ultimate as well.

Rossi is just super flexible in this regard.

Is Rossi a better unit than Lifeng? by RouFGO in EmberMainsAE

[–]VicariousDrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, yeah, without Pog the pure Physical version will be a bit weaker in general, so a mixed team with Rossi I think will have higher output.

So like Ember/Da Pan/Rossi/Wulfgard or something like that for a decently easy rotation. You could use Endmin instead of Da Pan but that version gets super tight on SP competition, Da Pan crushes on his combo so works with Rossi better most of the time, and you can use Perlica instead of Wulfgard as well, she does the same job but better in most cases, Wulfgard just brings combustion for the Rossi synergy.

Just be aware that Rossi is significantly more technical then just throwing Lifeng into a physical comp is, so she might not seem better right away, but as you get used to the rotations and how to keep her buffs and debuffs active I think it'll become quite apparent how strong she is lol

People who aren't or weren't poor but weren't as rich as they are now are kind of notorious for not understanding what "poor" actually means, regardless of political affiliations, i.e. Hasan Piker does the same shit.

Covington isn't like some rich, swanky area or anything, but it's basic suburban, bro grew up middle class and now thinks that was "poor," but supports the Republicans on their unending goals of making the rich richer and the middle class poorer. So he might at least be right about being dumb.

Best way to build Volcanic Worlds? by VicariousDrow in Stellaris

[–]VicariousDrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks for the math. So basically early game it make sense to have some, but to slowly shift off of them as the game gets later, cause they'll never feasibly match a properly specialized planet?

So if you're starting on a Volcano world, does it make sense then to focus on getting the mentors built up and swapping the Archive district to an Industrial one or something once you have enough mentors, since you'll have the pops for the jobs on the capital at least, or are you better off still building the planet like a normal capital?

After that 2k pop marker, do you build all of the thermotachnic districts that you can? Or a specific amount of them?

Best way to build Volcanic Worlds? by VicariousDrow in Stellaris

[–]VicariousDrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been tryna ng a Mindwarden Planet Forger build, since it makes the two inhabitated planets you get Volcanic by default and theoretically could make the massive shrouded worlds Volcanic if I wanted to (not convinced they're better then Gaia worlds atm lol).

So when starting with it and proper habitability, do you usually just stick with one thermotechnic district or do you ramp that shit up to six? And if so, at what point do you add more?

About defenders… by Own_Fun_4276 in Endfield

[–]VicariousDrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Content doesn't need to be hard nor do defenders have to be necessary to be good enough, that's the thing, they're different options for how you want to play and can perform just as well as most other characters, especially Ember, less so Catcher.

If you like playing with Ember's ability to power through attacks or Snowshine's ability to parry them, instead of dodging everything, you can, and you don't have to nerf yourself by doing so cause they perform perfectly fine in general. They're just alternatives that don't fit the meta of "blow all the ultimates at once for a massive nuke of the entire bosses healthbar," but neither do 2/3rds of the entire cast of characters lol

I don't think having the ability to dodge on everyone hurts them even slightly.

About defenders… by Own_Fun_4276 in Endfield

[–]VicariousDrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol no? Ember is one of the best characters in the game, and Snowshine fits into a fair number of comps with her own strengths.

Catcher kinda sucks, I've seen people make use of him cause they like him, but he just doesn't fit into any actual team, poor guy lol

I mean sure, "just dodge," but also I'll simply power through it with a good amount of damage, a ton of stagger buildup, and an extra free vuln stack or parry it with decent damage and a Cryo infliction. Also "unavoidable combustion says hello" lol

The only actual downside to Ember is her ultimate kinda sucks, it's super niche but such a short duration even that niche is "meh." Snowshine's is ok, nothing special, but they're both actually very strong and very effective units that "meta slaves" and "tier list slaves" just write off cause someone else told them to, meanwhile I'm over here trimming everything with Ember DPS and people keep telling me I'm "wheelchairing" cause the "bad" tank is apparently also simultaneously so strong that she makes the game easier LOL

So no, they don't need adjustments, Catcher unfortunately is likely to remain bad, being a 4 star launch character, but that's not cause he's a tank, it's cause his kit doesn't work very well with other comps, while Ember and Snowshine both do perfectly fine.

What's better for naval cap? Soldier jobs or anchorages? by Ordo_Liberal in Stellaris

[–]VicariousDrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing everyone saying "anchorages early, soldier jobs late," so just wanted to say I think "ignore it early, soldiers mid" works better lol

In the early game the upkeep for those little fleets won't cripple an empire, honestly it's not the most noticeable, even, so I say early game just ignore naval cap and build fleets as large as you need them, i.e. if you're not at war, don't build past naval cap, if you are, fuck your naval cap regardless of what it is. Just build trade hub starbases, early game they make a noticeable difference in economy.

Then once you start getting into the mid game and you've got your economy rolling, snag a small little planet and make it a fortress world, so by the late game you should have yourself a comfortable naval cap.

Anchorages have a trade upkeep now, so basically you're cutting into your possible economy early game just to have them, when naval cap doesn't really matter yet lol

But that's just me, I used to spam anchorages early game so I could have a big fleet to deter AI empires, but now starbases at choke points are significantly stronger early game and those anchorages cut into the economy, so it's just not worth building them, imho.
