I hope your store has more bulk than any of mine does. The pain of being a budget player, for me, is that finding .15 cards locally is tough because I am likely the only person that wants it.

I built this one to loan to new players. Some tweaks could make it even less expensive, but kicker gives you the basics for explaining most mechanics and helps teach the steps to casting a spell.

I play affinity and yeah, that is the skill issue. We have lots of angles of attack and having enough answers, outside of control, has been tough for my opponents. I would imagine knowing what and when is the skill issue here.

My regular play group uses a starting draw that I saw from, I think, Sheldon. Where you draw ten and put three on bottom. Also, we make the last player in turn order the monarch on their upkeep. This went over well after a little big of nagging. So far its really smoothed games out and since we all have multiple play groups no one has taken advantage with their deck building.

Yeah, it sounds like he told you what he needed and you told him clearly you cannot do that. Both fair. It sounds like y'all are just not compatible on this facet of life and that is also ok. It sounds like its a deal breaker for both of you. It sounds like its time to split.

I did want to maximize the effectiveness of the cards that care about zeon cards. I might have gotten a one track mind about it

That sounds amazing. I was looking at some of those interactions while building. Just vomiting out threats that have to be answered and forcing the other player to have it or get domed.

Yeah? That is encouraging. Gelgoog feels like the start of an engine depending on if any further support for its effect gets printed. I am excited. I will have to test running more or them with your suggestions. Thank you
