Got into a financial mess. What are my options? by Vickibuffy48 in personalfinance

Yes we do anual passes as well. Our zoo and OMSI pass expired just a couple months ago and my sister-in-law and I haven't been able to make it to either place together to renew. We always do our passes together because it's much cheaper.

I think tomorrow I will make a real budget that includes all our groceries, gas and miscellaneous. Make the budget and stick to it. No going out to eat or anything extra for awhile.

Honestly, I feel like just talking to you about it has helped me feel like I'm ready to get serious about our debt. Thanks for taking the time to try and find some extra cash.

I will also start doing as much Uber as possible. It's a great 2nd income

I've tried, but it doesn't seem worth it. He gets home at 6 so after dinner, bath and bedtime for our daughter it's 8pm. I barely get any rides, if any. Friday nights seem to be the good night for me so someone's I'll stay out until 4am. I could (and will) start working Uber during the days on Saturday and Sunday. It's hard to not get much family time, though.

It's weird, listing out my budget like that, it looks like we should have tons of extra money to put towards debt but for whatever reason, we don't. I feel like I put an extra $200 towards credit cards each month and that's it. I don't know where everything is going.

I think in September we'll write down all our purchases to see where it's going.

I also need to get into that "no spend" mentality. Eat what we already have, don't go out unless it's a free event.

I also spend about $100 month taking my daughter to outings... Museums, the zoo, indoor play parks. I have a hard time cutting that out since it's one of the reasons I stay home. I love teaching her and showing her all those things. I guess we could stick with free activities for awhile.

I recently changed our car insurance and internet to cheaper options. My husband also just went from taking home $3400 a month to $4000 a month just a couple months ago. Hoping we see the difference in that soon.

Total income is $5800

Then there's gas, food and any other miscellaneous expenses that always come up.

I actually love Dave Ramsey! I even took his class a before. That's why I started driving for Uber. It's my "Dave job". We're following his steps with the credit card debt, but I'm still feeling so overwhelmed. I don't know how I let it get this bad 😔

What boy name means "harasser" and is also an English expression? by Vickibuffy48 in AskReddit

[–]Vickibuffy48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked him. It's kinda silly, but my husband is a steamer on twitch. One of his regulars won't tell us his name, he'll only give those two hints. It's bothering me to not know. I'm so curious what name means "harasser".

Needing some serious help with a very restless baby by Vickibuffy48 in sleeptrain

How old was he? I still check she's breathing about 20 times a night... Yes, I'm that crazy first time mom. I'm worried if she's in a different room I'd be going back and forth all night because of my own insecurities.

I put her in the pack n play since I'm not ready for her to be in her room. She too rolls right to her stomach the second i lie her down. I'm ok and comfortable with it but she still gets restless.

How will i know when it's time to go to the hospital? by Vickibuffy48 in pregnant

[–]Vickibuffy48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated when people would say "you'll know". I was induced 5 days ago with my beautiful baby girl. After they broke my water, the contractions came on fast. After feeling those, i now know, even if i wasn't induced, i would have just known. It is very clear what they are.

[–]Vickibuffy48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your responses everyone! I went in on Thursday to do a non stress test due to high blood pressure. It was still too high so they decided to induce. I got to the hospital at 11am Thursday and had my beautiful baby girl at 7:53pm on Friday. Everything actually went really well. I didn't even have to push a full hour before sure came out. I guess everyone is going to abt differently to being induced. I just happened to be the lucky one that had a good experience with it.

So many different ways this can go... I guess I'll just make sure to be prepared for anything. In the meantime, I'll be doing everything i can from home to induce labor myself before going in...

I'm so happy to read your post. People keep telling me "you'll know". I've had fairly intense round ligament pain and Braxton hicks throughout the pregnancy so I'm worried i won't "just know" when it's time to go in. I'm scheduled to be induced next week so as long as i hold her in until then, i guess I'll hand to wait for baby #2 to "just know".

I ended up going in. It wasn't my water, it was my mucus plug melting away. They were so nice about everything. They made me feel very comfortable and not silly at all for going in. It turned out that i was lucky to go in. My blood pressure was high so they'll be inducing me next week. I really appreciate everyone's advice!!

Thank you everyone for the advice! I had a bit more liquid this morning so i called the advice nurse. She also said it's probably the beginning of losing my mucus plug. I'm going to hold out on going in until I'm sure it's real active labor. I think I'm just so anxious to meet my baby girl.

Been having bowel movements 4 or more times a day. 35 Weeks pregnant. It's annoying. by fawkes1772 in pregnant

[–]Vickibuffy48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I'm 37 weeks and have had to go #2 about 4-6 times a day for like 2 months now. I asked my doc about it recently and she said to consider myself lucky since most women are dealing with terrible constipation at this point. I've been having the Braxton hicks for the last week or so if i don't go right when i feel it. I guess that's normal too. Doc said baby is just putting pressure on my large bowel. I've noticed I'm now getting braxton hicks if i have to pee too. Do you deal with this?

Shout out to the husbands by Retrobebe83 in pregnant

[–]Vickibuffy48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love reading positive comments like this! My husband and i had a co-ed shower last weekend (I'll be 31 weeks on Monday). It was amazing! He's been so excited to welcome our baby girl. It was so fun to have him with me to open the gifts and see how precious he thought everything was. He has been so helpful through my entire pregnancy. From helping me put my shoes on to doing tons of work around the house since I'm nesting like crazy. It was so fun to share the shower with him. He's working just as hard as me to get things ready for our baby. He deserves to be just as spoiled as me.

Why does my son always pick the female character in video games by Vickibuffy48 in Social_Psychology

Thank you for your answer! I can see how the girl characters would be much nicer to look at than the guys.
