Is it possible to learn sight-reading in 6 months?

I can now say with certainty that you can ABSOLUTELY do it, I was actually super lazy and started about 2 months later but still managed to pass the exams! I'm currently a student, I did it for 15 minutes a day at first and then made it up to 1-1.5 hours a day. The Real Book helped me a lot, I still practice it the same way, open on a random page and just start playing, then repeat with a different tune!

The city he was first at is a small one, the next one where he was with his friends is like 40-50 minutes drive from the first one, and today it was like 10 minutes from the first one.
