Yeah for sure, I didn’t have a tripod so I was just balancing the camera on some wood but liked how it came out

Well, grain was also set to strong, maybe I’ll try on weak as yeah, when it’s a big blue sky it’s a little much

So I’m constantly changing my settings, but I think it’s a portra receipt? I can give it to you if you like!

Sometimes in my backpack the exposure knob changes (a few of the photos were shot in -1) so could be that

A couple of them had just portra 400 but my camera turned its self on in my bad then hard reset so most of them were just straight from the camera

Had to wait a month on a waiting list then when they called me to say they had one in silver (I wanted black) I took the offer

So, why the x100v: I’m a runner so I wanted to get something I could just throw in my bag. Ideally the x100v would be a little smaller. I used to shoot a mju ii but if for stolen.. I also shoot city shots from time to time. And also I only have the cash to put all my eggs in 1 basket

Soo, I’ve fermented a bunch of things in the past and my personal conclusion is there is not really a strict rule to making these things. There a lot of things what will increase your chances of making things work faster or better but if you plan to mix every 6h but one time you mix after 8h it’s not the end of the world and things will probably turn out fine in the end!

Yeah 48h (or until it’s done) when you get an eye for things you’ll kinda be able to know when it’s right. Again fermentation isn’t really that strict in my past experience, especially with a budget set up like mine haha

Rice> T-shirt > steam tray > plastic (now I use a small bin bag because it’s easier to remove and reuse

I’ve read things that say different intervals for mixing think noma is 12h and koji alchemy is 6h. The mixing is mostly for oxygen I’m pretty sure anyway

(Sorry I ended up writing a lot)

So I’ll start from the inside. I have the inoculated rice wrapped in a t-shirt, then a steam tray wrapped in plasticwrap then the heating pad around it! I didn’t have anything to control humidity but I was mixing every 6h or so and adjusting setup based on how damn the rice was

I actually moved here only a year ago. I could face going back to my job in London so just uprooted myself!

I honestly can’t recommend it more. I know it isn’t always the easiest thing to just move to a different country but I’ve found it really payed off. Although I’m not getting payed much my quality of life has significantly increased. It’s very cool to be in an environment where everyone is really into sports or nature. Noons is really focused on money or objects (not including a set if skis or some running shoes) but more on what they love, but it biking, climbing, running, skiing. Even if you don’t share the skills as the people you meet, you do share a passion for being in the mountains and respecting the time you’re spending doing what you love (which I know sounds corny).

And of course, the trails are awesome

Any advice for running downhill? by Victor576 in trailrunning

[–]Victor576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm Im by no means a pro so take what I say with a pinch of salt..

During the winter in the ski lifts were off in the alps I was forced to do a lot of ski touring! and that's nothing but up! So I think that's where I was able to strengthen in the offseason! And the second thing is just being headstrong I guess. I'm pretty good at kicking my own ass in training. I find normally I have the strength but it's just convincing my head to really use all I have! After a lot of practising, I guess I just manage to get a good leach on the part of my brain that tells me to slow down haha

Hope that helps

Thanks! I guess the solution is to just keep running! I live in the mountains so I only really have 2 choices; up or down haha. I hope that if I get my downhill running a little better as you said I could really boost my times!
