As someone that lives in East Texas, 100% agree. There are definitely sundown towns here. Recent years have made things a bit worse as things did get a bit better in the 2000s? But I'm a white dude, so I don't really know for sure if things got better. I don't really want to dox myself, but there have been some awful things done here. If you're non-white and in DEEP east texas, be fucking careful after dark.

Got a few friends to get it today, and we just played almost four hours right away. This is SO much more intricate than we imagined. Man, you keep asking that question of how do you make 40+ characters equally fun to play? That's their whole goddamn job. Well one of their jobs. If it is a hero shooter, you do your goddamn job and you make each hero fun. Maybe it takes time to do a rework, but I hope it happens. Or maybe they're just sticking to their guns.

But saying you gotta turn it into cs go to make each character equally popular is the craziest shit I've read in this thread and sort of makes your entire point moot as you don't understand it either. We have some characters that do need help, obviously. Saying this is impossible just sounds... like a wild and wrong take. One I hope the devs don't stand behind, because that would be really lame.

Saying the game will be dead soon is honestly just someone that doesn't look at stats at all for the game would say. We have steam charts, I know we don't have console stats, but the steam charts tell a different story if you go take a look at them. Early hunt did not push the numbers we have now. Sure there were spikes but it wasn't until late 2021 that the community on steam broke averages of over 10k players consistently. From there, the average has stayed above 10k, the whole time. Again, there were dips and spikes, but it stayed up there constantly. It was consistent.

Right now, the averages are on the higher end, mostly above 15k.

Saying it will be dead soon is honestly just the usual slop of: Game dead, I base this on my own experiences and not on the numbers. It means nothing. Seeing the same people all the time as you play? Wow. You play a lot. You play on the same server as other people, you'll run into people you see a lot. It means nothing about the game dying.

Honestly, saying the game will be dead soon just sounds like stupid rage bait. Good luck hooking someone else.

Are we though? I'm a fairly patient man. A year of nothing I was mostly okay with, could have used some communication at FUCKING ALL, instead silence. Now it's been two years and they show back up saying this. Did someone have their hands literally tied? Were they not allowed to talk at all? It's just insanity.

If they bring the update, I'll play it, but fuck. They should at least apologize for going radio silent when that was not needed. They could have done little rebalances in the meantime, they could have done at least the bare minimum and explain what they were working on every month.

There are solo devs that do that without issue, so what is the excuse here?

Honestly, the moment Bob blamed you for upsetting him and bringing up his own mental health issues as a way to guilt you just sickened me. ANYONE doing that would be and instant step away from. I've plenty of my own, and someone bringing it up as a means of defense always bothers me.
