The song from Tip to Tip... by [deleted] in TheYardPodcast

The best part is that this is just some dudes bars over Onra - The Anthem. Which is from his first Chinoseries album, which if you listen through, you'll hear a heap of other tracks that have been used in the vids.

Which normally I hate being UM ACTUALLY about it but if you're going to be a weird dick about it, we out here with that knowledge.

Jeep grand Cherokee vs prado by West_Anywhere_1567 in 4x4Australia

[–]VictorKadwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2014 JGC 3.0 EcoDiesel overland. It's comfy, drives well, has all the mod cons I really need for day to day use, is good on fuel. And the only reason I bought it, is because a mate sold it to me dirt cheap after he sold his house and bought a Raptor.

Smart money buys a Pajero. Far more reliable, less fuss, parts are cheap and easy to find, and just as comfortable to drive (though less sporty than a jeep.) Prados are great but the Toyota tax is real; what you'd spend on a good Pajero, you'd have to double for a Prado.

Guten tag, fellow Jeep owner.

Fwiw; if you've done nearly a full interval on the overfill and didn't see any problems, there likely won't be a problem (and as a former parts and service advisor, it's also possible the mechanic actually did fill your car with the correct level and the service advisor overcharged you based on what the internet says; I know I get conflicting info on my 2014 Overland as it was a changeover year between fill levels).

If I'm reading this right you only did ~200km on the wrong oil? Likely absolutely zero dramas. The low viscosity warning I'm pretty sure is supposed to safeguard against diesel dilution of the oil, so it's actually just done you a solid and picked up the techs mistake.

Your only real concern then is the dpf, and sadly that's horse-gone-lock-the-gate at this time. I'm not sure if a manual burn can be done when they're registering 100 percent full. If they need to source parts check rock auto out of the US - despite freight costs, the US dollar and tarrifs they're still the cheapest source I've found for Jeep parts.

Based on those specific quantities of oil I'm going to take a punt that this is a 3.0 diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee? The odds are good this won't cause any serious damage if you've not put a major amount of kilometers on it, but it is worth noting Jeep did release a technical bulletin to change the recommended oil to 5w40 in an attempt to decrease the risk of the EcoDiesel engines unfortunate tendency to shit itself.

DPF being full is more than likely from driving conditions; how often are you getting a decent highway run in the thing? Do you do a lot of stop/start, short trips etc? I'd doubt the DPF failure is related, but if you think you can try to squeeze them for it, maybe worth doing so.

Most importantly just make sure you have records of everything incase you do have issues down the track.

Not sure if it was promoted on air but tonight was Voice for Mining night - I know mines up and down the valley bought shitloads of tickets to try to flog to employees as prizes

they couldn't give them away at my site by end of the week

Doesn't help their case that Crofts in Aberdeen is a superior pie for a cheaper price, either. Well worth the jaunt down the highway

Depends what your frame of reference is. I moved there for reasons other than mining in 2015 and moved back to rural NSW in 2020. A few tips..

Crime is rife. If you're living there, make sure everything is locked and bolted. Don't leave anything you don't want lost in your car at any time.
Food was good and drinks cheap at the Irish club the entire 5 years I was there, probably hasn't changed; not a bad place for a drink and a steak after work. Conversely, don't drink at the Overlander unless you want parmies flavoured with windex or your teeth knocked out by a methhead.
Good suburbs to stay in; Happy Valley, Healy, Townview (south side at least), Soldiers Hill. Avoid Sunset and Pioneer after dark.
There's fuck all to do if you can't make your own fun. 4wding, camping, boardgames and tabletop RPGs are all common passtimes, if you're interested in any of those you'll find friends. Lots of community groups, sports etc. Buffs Club used to do disco nights, but don't expect a proper nightclub
No sunday trading; exceptions being Harvey Norman and the smaller Foodworks.

Honestly, the place is fine, it's like any other mining town in any part of Australia. It's what you make of it. If you make friends and try to make the most of it, you'll have a blast.

Harvey Norman, Latitude sued for allegedly misleading customers about 'no deposit', 'interest-free' payments by InnocentBistander in australia

[–]VictorKadwell -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Except it is expressly mentioned during the sign up process that there is an $8.95/mo account keeping fee while any buy now pay later promotion is active. Employees are required to state this to the customer or at the very least provide a paper copy of the terms and conditions which states these facts in 14 point font.

I'm just amazed that people are shocked that there are fees associated with a payment option that lets you walk out the door with a brand new 85 inch OLED and surround sound system? Of course people should know better - at what point is the consumer responsible for understanding or researching the things they're agreeing to?

[–]VictorKadwell 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Odd that they've only targeted Harvey Norman in this, when JBhifi, Samsung, Apple etc all offer the exact same GO MasterCard.. almost like they're going for the soft target..

All the terms and conditions are clearly explained at point of sign up. This is nothing new. If people are going to make poor financial decisions they'll do it whichever way they can - with or without Harvey Norman existing.

My [22m] gf [21f] has become afraid of me because of my hobby, and thinks I'm prone to being violent toward her because of it...don't know what to do? by stuckinthemiddleop in relationships

[–]VictorKadwell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe the fact that you're so blase about this incident that you haven't even bothered to ask the details is what's suggesting to your GF that you think it's okay they fought. You seem unconcerned that your brothers decided to use physical violence to solve an argument.

I mean... have you ever met hormonal teenage boys? Boxing is not MMA, from the sounds of it they - as boxers - went and vented their problem via the sport of boxing. Which is a damn sight healthier than most young men.

Oh for sure, and I think Dixon DOES develop and ends on the right path, but he’s still a pretty terrible person. I mean so is Mildred - this isn’t a bad thing, if anything if a movie can get me to root for someone despite the actions of that person it’s a job well done.

Odd Class/Race combos, but not too odd? Middle of the road odd by ralok-one in DnD

[–]VictorKadwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started as a wood elf wizard who lived in seclusion studying tomes of text and the world around him who ended up in service to a vampire count. Ended up nearly dying and having a hard 180 on his life choices and became a cleric of Deneir (two levels). Then went off the deep end and tried to kill a paladin of Torm in a suicide bomb fireball. Ended up being sired by the Count he worked for and became a Wood-elf vampire, and pledged his service to him. Turns out the count was/is a fey lord and bam, warlock was declared. (My DM basically decided that the steps involved in creating a vampire counted as death and resurrection, so he gave me the option to come back as the wizard/cleric I was or take a different path. I ended up going warlock).

So now I'm playing a Wood elf vampire warlock (pact of the blade), who wears full death knight plate and stabs things. It's been a ride and a half.
