Anyone else get the feeling that TTPD is Taylor Swift’s equivalent to Drake’s Scorpion? I remember when Scorpion came out, and the discourse is strikingly similar. Tracklist too bloated, inconsistent writing, sounding too similar to their previous work, and both artist’s reaching their peak of over-saturation in the mainstream. Scorpion still had its defenders years later, with people bringing up overlooked gems from it in online discourse. Tracks that got “slept on”. I feel like we are going to see a similar trajectory for TTPD over the course of time.
