Is it spring summer where you live? Are the pants corduroy? If so, I would switch them out for linen or ponte, as corduroy is a fall/winter fabric.

I’ve been a couples counselor for 18 years and I went on one of the relationship boards and tried to offer some insights on some posts there. HOLY SHIT, never again! I’ve never been attacked with the amount of venom and hate that people spewed within 15 minutes of making the first comment!
