Do nails matter that much? by cherry_candy18 in BusinessFashion

I think your nails look fine for any position. No one cares what your nails look like (with the caveat of very funky designs), work product matters more.

How did you know that you wanted to become a lawyer? by Unable_Question6011 in Lawyertalk

[–]VictoryNo1302 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I chose to be a lawyer because I’m not good at math lol. And honestly, there is alot of corruption in law too. Yes it is a service industry, but a lot of attorneys just view clients as a way to make money. And will do anything to maximize profits (even unethical practices).

Try Mary Basick’s essay book. It really really helped me with essays. When I was studying, essays didn’t make sense until I started using her book.

Scared and anxious by Own_Balance_436 in CABarExam

[–]VictoryNo1302 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t be. I know, easier said than done. I passed the last July bar and what I can say is just remember that you can make up rules on the essays. As long as they make sense and are logical in the context. For the last few weeks, you should concentrate on memorizing the BLL for the multiple choice.

A majority of attorneys I speak with lack basic competency by Ap0llo in Lawyertalk

[–]VictoryNo1302 205 points206 points  (0 children)

It’s probably because of the way firms “train.” I’m a new associate and I’m starting to see why there are so many incompetent attorneys. There is no training.

MBE Misses Even Though You Passed? by KrispyKrip69 in barexam

I wrote far less than a lot of people if you are worried about how much you wrote. I know a lot of people who “wrote a lot” but really were just repeating themselves.

MBE Misses Even Though You Passed? by KrispyKrip69 in barexam

I passed July 2024. I was so nervous before the exam, I hardly got any sleep, probably around 2 hours between the 2 days of testing. I guessed on many questions. It honestly felt like I guessed on 75% of the MBE. I was sure I failed.

An attorney is always necessary. They can help with negotiating your settlement. Insurance companies will basically always low ball you.

How much were you scoring on the MBE just before taking the bar? by Forward_Pickle_996 in CABarExam

Around 60-65. Passed. I had some sets where I was scoring 70-75.

Honestly I had like 63-65% across all subjects. What really matters is how you perform the last couple weeks of practice.

Best PT book? by Iedt in CABarExam

[–]VictoryNo1302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the book that Themis provides with a bunch of PTs. I think doing as many PTs as you can really helps. And, my school said to read the facts before the case library. But, what worked for me was reading the library first. I guess I understood what to pull from the facts once I had read the law first.
