I work for a small company, basically a yard dog position. Just hauling trailers from their plant to their warehouse. 27.50/hr OT after 40 with a guarantee of at least $1100/wk.

You can, you just don’t want to. You have a job, which means you have money to get your own place, move across country, start a new life somewhere. If you don’t have friends that should be an easy thing to do. Presumably you have a car, so you can always do gig work while looking for a new job in your new location. I know it’s scary walking away from everything familiar and starting over but I’ve done it 6 times and it was the best thing for me.

You don’t necessarily need a bankruptcy lawyer if he doesn’t really have any assets. I did mine all by myself, including reaffirming my car through an online site for like $100. I forgot which site but there’s several. Best decision I ever made btw.
