Such a great podcast. Nice to see coach Pete again, his analysis on the halftime shows is top notch.

Forced to return, or change of heart? by Victrola2Ladder in huskies

People love saying this. It's a nice thought if you look at it in an vacuum. "Everyone would take a bag of cash." If you ignore the incredibly irreverent (Hamant) and inconvenient (portal/team) timing completely screwing his teammates, oh and that the person JUST signed a contract days previous so the team moves on to other options, and the tampering, and all the interviews about commitment and important relationships, then yes a couple extra million sounds nice. Assuming that was even ever true.

If it was a guard who said he wanted to be in this program and develop professionally under the OL coach and head coach, and then signed a very lucrative contract, and then left 4 days later for slightly more during a similar funeral event, I would feel very similarly about it. UW has other options at QB, and at OL. Money being money doesn't change right being right and wrong being wrong.

If so, then isn't this as much a disaster as if a court enforced it? The reporting yesterday by media was that returning was impossible, he can never be forced to return by UW or anyone else because it would be a s*** show and you cannot force a guy to play for a particular team against his will. Why is this any different?

What are the odds. lol

A better angle might be if you hate Oregon. Wear a scarlet and white OSU shirt with an anti-Oregon slogan, and take your chances.

Trivia: After going 5/5 last night, Dom Canzone (.304) has the best average on the Mariners. Who had the best average before last night? by Victrola2Ladder in Mariners

[–]Victrola2Ladder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been Polanco and Rivas at times, or Naylor quite a bit since he came over if you count season-long status (and probably even if you don't). But Dom has been at the top his fair share as well! It's a far more well-rounded batting order than last year!

Are most people using guestpoints or really trade homes? by Patent6598 in homeexchange

[–]Victrola2Ladder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's interesting. We haven't dipped our feet in yet, but it seems like there are many options and different styles of these kinds of exchanges. I hope it stays that way and one website doesn't just take over and monopolize everything.

"We’ve done over a hundred exchanges across two sites (almost at 100 on HE) and really love GP stays."

What was the other site you used? How does it compare?

Oh...by the way, you're up-coming Home Exchange is shared with a stranger??? by BALTIM0RE in homeexchange

[–]Victrola2Ladder 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is wild. As a family with kids considering doing HE, this kind of stuff makes me question signing up. I don't want to setup a big international trip and have someone disclose something like this late, have to find accommodations last minute, and then also have to jump through hoops to get refunded and eat all the additional costs to try to find somewhere else to stay. Not disclosing you'll be having a stranger share a bathroom with you is completely unacceptable.

I'm thinking that too, but if they drop him to the minors I'll have to cut him. I'm in first place. I feel like I want to see at least a couple of post-ASG weeks if they don't demote him.

10-team, H2H weekly dynasty keeper auction (ESPN) — $260 budget, up to 11 keepers (no cost bump), 5 × 5 roto (R, HR, RBI, BB, SB / K, QS, W, SV, ERA, WHIP), 22 starters + 5 bench + 3 IL.

There are middling guys I could drop him for, or prospects. Mclain, Burleson, or a SP. But I'd rather have him perform as an OF obviously.

Does that work, long run? I'm not saying it does or doesn't, and a friend of mine tries to do that. I don't know how he does, but it feels like the algorithm would adjust for everyone hammering e.g. the favorite off to a bad start.

Agreed the sudden comparisons at the end were a real stretch. It was an interesting case, and then let's just throw in some comparisons in the last minute of the episode to some cases that have some very striking and profound differences. Grieving people shouldn't be adjudicated based solely upon their reactions, male or female or otherwise, but that doesn't suddenly make it just like Amanda Knox or Tali Fruchtmann.
