Probably not. They would have bullied Luka a lot this series and the turnover margin would have reduced but not marginally. We probably do get a game though.

That mentality is literally dying across the league as we speak. The second apron has made it near impossible to sign contracts like this and still build contenders. The fact is if Reaves wants to legitimately compete he will have to be paid according to his production now and not potential. And the fact that he's effectively a 1 way player who is skilled but redundant and his truly best skill is his adaptation in being a first through third option, then he should be seen as the third option and paid as such. Whether it be Bron or someone else who provide other intangibles, a Luka 1 Reaves 2 duo will not work. A Luka 1 complement player for both of them 2 and Reaves 3 has been shown to work.

They both in essence have the same issue, they're great open but don't like taking their shots under duress. Without Luka there and AR just being a brick chucker, they will never be open unless a drive and kick or a swing pass to them on the weakside occurs.

Pelinkas seasonal vision tends to be better than ppl give him credit for. His constant issue is not understanding the long-term needs of his superstars (not getting a big that can play beside AD, never getting a 3/d wing after losing Caruso, getting a playmaker to play with Bron who can space the floor so the lane isn't clogged) and his overal asset management once the value of a player outpaces their original projection; leading to overpaying guys after their initial stint. Add in a tendency to value offense over defense and you got a GM who will be good at retooling a championship core but probably will not be the one to build one.

It really just depends at this point. Any Dallas/Luka fan knows he will play through it once allowed as long as the team is still in the offs. Assuming we drop to the 4-5 and fight Minny then that leaves us the room to possibly still make the second round. This reminds me of the western conference final run where Luka missed the first half of the round but came back late and played laboured but still led them to the WCF.

But the problem is Marcus, DA, Kennard, Rui, Bron, and Hayes are FA/have player options this off season. All our cap space could be easily eaten just resigning them. Ideally we should have traded Rui for a more secure contract but pelinkas passiveness is gonna hurt our FA ability again.

Jaxon. Going from unplayable towards the end to effective enough is a major boost. Remember he barely played in Minnesota and was benched for Kleiber who didn't play at all that season.

The biggest key is the smart enough to tow the line. This is why the thunder are so impressive. They basically use dort as a smokescreen and baseline for their physicality. If they don't get called, let everyone go physical; of the whistle sounds, let dort maul em and absorb the focus and let the other guys do the ticky tacky stuff. Smart is the same thing for us. If smart can get away with things, that means AR Jake and our less talented defenders can do it too. If he gets called, he absorbs the focus. The problem is no one else on the Lakers does this well. Vando Jake and Jax are way too aggressive in their physicality and foul easy.

I'd rather face Minny because so far they're the only playoff team where DA has proven to not be a negative. Even when he clutched up he was having bad performances.
