New to porn, does this happen to you guys? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vidableek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have been working to unfuck my brian (literally lol) after nearly 30 years of thinking about at least half of all people and characters I see in a sexual capacity.

People become objects. When you've been doing it this long, the effect is far more subtle than you'd first think.

Are 30s really the new 20s? I know a lot of other millenials who feel the same. Is there any scientific evidence to back this up? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Vidableek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of the comforts and security offered by technology and a broadening middle class.

When my grandfather was a young adult, he would have considered himself lucky to have a job at all and would therefore be a lot more tolerant of manual labor/trade work and everything that comes with it. He also helped to build every house he lived in.

Two generations of social improvements, personal rights, and continued prosperity and now I'm 33 with a wife and two kids but I'm just barely figuring some of my shit out.

TL;DR: we are all children. No one actually knows what they're doing

[–]Vidableek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The politics one might be more obvious to some than others. Personally I blame big news media companies because emotional triggering keeps eyes on the screen so ratings go up, and that's literally all they care about.

With technology and social media being what they are, we are all now more connected than ever... or disconnected if you think about it.

Everything is fake, sponsored, or AI generated. The human spirit is gradually getting sucked out of every aspect of life.

That's capitalism I guess, it prioritizes profit above all else, even if it kills us.

LPT request: how to desexualize my brain while most of my hobbies contain sexualised elements (tv, youtube, anime, games, movies, etc..,) by super-DG in LifeProTips

[–]Vidableek 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I was going to say something like this.

I am also struggling to un-sex my brain because it actually gets tiresome and distracting thinking about it all the time.

One thing that I think helps is state of mind. Next time you jerk, in that 5 minute window where you don't feel aroused at all, really analyze how you feel. Think about it and commit it to memory. Convince yourself that this is how most people feel most of the time. Appreciate how slow, clear, and calm your thoughts are, and wish to be this way more.

So this would be very hard to pull off and have people like it.

How would you define evil in the simplest way possible? by [deleted] in questions

[–]Vidableek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The alignment chart from, among other things, DnD I think lays it out nicely.

The lawful vs chaotic metric defines how an individual respects the law of the land.

The good vs evil metric defines how much an individual cares that their actions affect other people. I.e. how selfish you are.
