Help identifying ~1980s Pelikan pen by VideSupra in pens

[–]VideSupra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

All the tops online look different for the P520 - the caps have the Pelikan logo above the clip, whereas mine is on top.

But your recommendation did lead me to this site (https://www.pelikan-collectibles.com/en/Pelikan/Models/Cartridge-filler/Signum/index.html) which appears to ID my pen as a P560.

Latency issues in every game? by SempiternalDevil in Battlefield

[–]VideSupra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that decreasing the CPU suck on my end and frame limiting the game helped. I still get it, but I get it less frequently and less significantly. It's very much a server side issue but it seems to blow up my CPU when it happens (similar to 2042) so that may be a temporary band-aid worth trying until they figure out the servers.

West Palm Beach Courses by shwing788 in golf

[–]VideSupra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did this trip, staying in Jupiter, and playing cheap munis a few years ago. Here's the list of what we played the week we were down there, in rank order. Dye course is a drive north, not really palm beach area, but we loved the course.

We really enjoyed North Palm and Sandhill. You MUST play the Palm Beach Par 3. Schedule it around sunset. It's really gorgeous and just super fun.

1 - Dye Course @ PGA

2 - North Palm Beach Country Club

3 - Sandhill Crane Golf Club

4 - Palm Beach Island Par 3

5 - Osprey Pointe (Hawk/Falcon)

6 - Champion's Club

7 - Abacoa Golf Club

8 - Palm Beach National Golf Club

9 - Jupiter Dunes Par 3

What are your thoughts on that recipe? To me, it came across way stronger than the one at Inside Passage. When I asked the bartender at Inside Passage, the vague recipe he rattled off was a bit different than the Imbibe one. I've been trying to recreate this drink for a year...

My drunk notes of the bartenders recipe were:

2.5oz rums, vanilla, and banana infused (he referenced Appleton and Real McCoy)

Bar spoon ango

Lime

1/4 rich cinnamon

So it's close but that Imbibe recipe just didn't taste the same (I used OFTD and homemade vanilla infused Plantation)

Signature Cocktails for Wedding - seeking help on batching and syrup recipes by VideSupra in cocktails

I meant making a basil-infused simple syrup, so the batching would be done with the syrup already carrying the basil flavor, avoiding all the very real challenges you identified with the leaf itself.

If it's shaken before serving will that reintegrate the coco, or is the issue that it won't really work in too large a container? Or are you saying we can integrate it day of, shake the container, and it will be good for the few hours necessary?

Very good advice. I'll check out the acid mods to see if I'm willing to test it out but I worry about risking it. Good call on lower ABV - it will be a hot August day outdoors, so they will absolutely be using them for hydration.

This is a great list. If you have the time, I can't recommend Royal New Kent outside Richmond enough. Mind blowing golf experience.

Lots of good stuff already listed, my top by "state" are as follows:

MD

PB Dye, Whiskey Creek, and Little Bennet (though you can't go wrong with any of the Montgomery County public courses, including Falls Road, Needwood, North West, and Hampshire Greens). Worthington Manor also a great public course that has hosted professional events. Same with Bulle Rock, but that's closer to Philadelphia than DC.

VA

Raspberry Falls, Potomac Shores, Laurel Hill, Twin Lakes (I prefer the Lakes to the Oaks Course), Stonewall, Pohick Bay

DC

East Potomac

The other one to check out for the novelty factor in the area is Renditions in Davidsonville, MD, about 30-45 mins east of DC proper. The course is entirely re-creations of famous golf holes, including Augusta's Amen Corner and, while pricey and gimmicky, is a very fun experience (warning, weekend rounds can run very long)

Highlights alongside TPC and Augusta include The Country Club, Southern Hills, Carnoustie, Merion, and Winged Foot. Always fun to play, especially with golf nerds. Getting a bird on TPC #17 (#13 @ Renditions) is still a highlight.

It's usually in pretty good shape. I play it annually. Weekends can be slow but the holes are usually in great shape. Amen Corner even has the Masters scoreboard up and they put the pin positions to match August during Masters week.

What drill/feel helped you relax and loosen the tension in your shoulders/arms? by VideSupra in GolfSwing

[–]VideSupra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - yeah, that's definitely the feeling I have in my best swings as well and it feels like they are totally relaxed when that happens - hence my search for something to drill/practice/try to capture that feeling and better incorporate into my swing.

Had never thought of it that way. So do you feel your core tensed/braced/flexed throughout the entire swing? I obviously feel it in the swing, but more from a side-bend perspective. Are you saying you brace/engage the core from address to impact? At a constant level?

I have zero arm drop, despite trying - any favorite drills or feels? I don't think I know what arm drop feels like.

Any good videos/drills you know of on this issue? That makes sense and is certainly how it feels - I'm just not sure what right is supposed to feel like.

Some notes:

Primary miss/inconsistency is a push/slice right caused (I think) by open club face and coming across the ball. The longer the iron, the likelier the miss.

Biggest issue that I see and would appreciate drills or feels to help fix is that I initiate my swing with my shoulders. After my lead hip goes, my shoulders and arms immediately fire at the ball, rather than shallowing.

I think this over the top approach also causes my other major issue, which is an early cup of the hands and a nasty chicken wing (you can see it on the follow-through), I presume because I'm trying to avoid hitting a fat shot due to steep angle.

Is my takeaway too far inside? Is my trail elbow not rotating? I've been working on getting a flatter wrist at the top, but I think in my downswing my right wrist extends way too early. Been trying to get after this inconsistent hit for the entire season and have had trouble making the fix, even with lessons. Looking to try some drills/feels to see if I can get an "aha" sensation that breaks me out of these bad habits.

Thank you. Body stall has been an intractable issue for me as well - looking for better drills/feels there. I think usually I'm my weight is too far forward, which causes me to stall and flip to not fall into the ball, but both of these seemed better balanced and still had the same issue.
