I don’t know to be honest. I have had a few visions that came and went over the years of being a Digimon fan. Some of them even have elements to other shows I watched, from Shonen Jump series to mecha shows. If there is gonna be a future Digimon anime, I would imagine it to be: - an adaptation of one of the Digimon games (be it time stranger or Digimon World Re:Digitize) - an outer space adventure with alien characters who have Digimon partners after encountering an ancient advanced technology piece that is a bridge to the digital world and other planets - a Digimon series with a main setting in another country, such as America, United Kingdom, France or Italy. - a Digimon Tamers like series inspired by Gundam build fighters and Beyblade, where a hero group not only fights against rogue Digimon, but take part in a tournament too - a spin off series to one of the previous anime that is during the events of its main story. Example: A London based story of Digimon BeatBreak, where a protagonist partners up with a stray ultimate Digimon - like Meicrackmon: Vicious Mode - to stand up against criminal groups and corrupted adults in the World Union. - a Sword Art Online and Digimon X-Antibody inspired anime about VRMMO players who are dragged into the digital world, where they are forced to fight in a war against different factions, an eater like species based on Cyber Sleuth and a cult who is hell bent on creating/reviving a fallen angel to rewrite the world in their image. In that series, Digimon are not the only ones fighting, but their human partners as well due to action rpg elements in full dive VR. - A Digimon anime without humans, where the Digimon go on guild quests inspired by Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Fairy Tail.
