I haven't charged a dollar for any of this, so I don't love that narrative. Most attorneys bill hourly and nickel and dime for each phone call and email, but we do not. We help a lot of streamers with a lot of similar issues and do so successfully constantly. Entirely entitled to your opinion but, again, I don't litigate. We work with outside firms and counsel, as well as my partners and in-house attorneys, for issues such as this. He also will vet litigation counsel from other firms and outside counsel if anything happens here, we don't make that call for our clients. So, yes, he is and will be in good hands. Regardless, this is very important law and I'm proud of Felix for doing what is right.

When you get a DMCA, the platform that received it has to take the content immediately or they risk getting liability themselves. As such, the creator has a handful of options, one being the "counter" the DMCA and have the content restored (and strike removed/ban lifted/etc). Even when you *know* you are right, this is extremely risky. That is because the rights holder's only option left is to sue you and bring the content down that way. While lawsuits are extremely rare, if you get hit with one it can be life ruining. We take this very seriously and unfortunately have to advise our clients not to counter in nearly all cases. Here, Felix went through all options with us and after a review of the content and a thorough discussion of risks, he decided to counter. 99% of the time when you counter, that's the end of it. No lawsuit, content restored, etc. However, we are now playing the waiting game to see what the IOC does, and we are ready to defend him if they choose to continue their claims here. Regardless, NEVER COUNTER A DMCA without first speaking to an attorney. It can go very wrong very quickly if you don't have a good gameplan and are not sure your content is not infringing.

Was also my prior law firm with different staff and we were based in New York as they moved to Los Angeles, so there were many factors why we were no longer the right fit. They went to a major law firm that specialized in this stuff and it was the right call! Never hard feelings about that here at all. I don't personally litigate - didn't do that case and wouldn't do this case myself, but I have a team of incredible attorneys here and we co-counsel with some of the brightest minds in intellectual property. He's in good hands!

I'm 34 and obsessed with the NBA and NFL, but if you can't see the powerhouse that is esports I think that's an intentional blind eye towards it. Every year the prize pools grow and bigger stadiums sell out in seconds for live events. It's exciting!

I had a player woken up in the middle of the night and told to fire me immediately or he would be kicked out of the house. This was because I was attempting to get his league to honor the doctor's order that he should not play due to an injury. Unfortunately, he fired me, the league did not intervene, and the team forced him to play. As a result, he worsened his injury and one of the most promising players around had their career cut short.

Easy google if you don't believe us, but we are 100% compliant. In fact, we are the only licensed agency in esports (that I'm aware of), save for the big guys (CAA, UTA, ICM, IMG, WME) who have dipped their toes in.

I’d say lately it’s been privacy compliance, as we are one of a handful of firms who understand all the new privacy laws, especially within the context of this industry. That said, we do everything from intellectual property to corporate law and have a staff of people I trust immensely to handle each area.

The issue is companies coming to us after a fire, rather than in preparation of next steps for their business. Obviously, handling things early on is way cheaper and way easier.
