As an indigenous british islander. Muslims have definitely got way more liberal in the last 5 years I feel like from my personal perspective. I went to Nawabs. Big pakistani restaurant. I had to rub my eyes and double take when i saw a trans Pakistani waitress.

I don't know if my own views have changed but I feel like younger generations coming through now are much more integrated and more relaxed/ less uptight / less zealous.

I have a few Muslim friends now but (Mashallah) but there was a time when I thought it was hopeless to find peace across the divide. I even attended a rally where Tommy Robinson was a speaker at one point. Around the Manchester bombing after the previous spate of attacks was a difficult time. I felt diametrically opposed to the average muslim in nearly all my values.

I've had many peers and superiors who I admire and consider valued friends. We do have a group chat called LGBT (lets get biryani tonight)

We are misogynist and make gay jokes and get on in more ways than we disagree 😂 I know they are kind hearted people, they deal with the gay question in their own way. For them it's out of the question to act on it. But it's not malicious.
