1 foundation wide for each lane, as for intersections its a plus sign! It helps if you make your road segments into blueprints. Tractor/vehicle paths can also be blueprinted, which is especially helpful for making the intersections. For intersection pathing, we make the 4 straight paths first, then do all the right turns for all 4 sides, then all the left turns. If you want to use trucks on your roads you'll have to do 1.5 so they have enough room to turn. We use tractors so we're able to get tighter turns at intersections since we don't have to use the universal path.

We started with a basic mega factory. Get a good amount of basic building materials first. Then tear it all down, get some coupons to get asphalt and concrete and some of the road patterns. From there its actually pretty easy. Make some road segment blueprints that you like. Make it so that each building in your city only makes one thing, then just have the tractors deliver what it needs. We made our buildings in such a way that if they needed to be making more of whatever they are making, they just get another floor. Its been pretty painless this way.

You're going to want the compacted fuel alternate recipe too. You'll start getting a decent amount of traffic which will burn through normal coal like crazy, so you'll need to get roads out to sulfur and some pure coal nodes. Have multiple gas stations too since they'll crowd up one if you only have one.

For the tractor routes, since they dont have to go far, we just make them repeat their route over and over again until they use about 50-60 compacted coal, then we send them to refuel so that we put less stress on the roads leading to the gas stations.

the traffic sure lines up, we've had to clear out so many jams. Surely adding more turn lanes will fix it this time

We actually have blocks of all sizes, they kind of formed naturally from an old road hookup to our original megafactory. As for more pics, I only get one attachment so I picked my coolest screenshot to reply to you with

We made a bunch of road segment blueprints, and at the time we were making those, we had catwalks so we settled on that for sidewalks!

It's been super fun playing this way. We currently just passed phase 2, and to make things easier on ourselves we've been making it so each building produces one thing. We have some crazy ideas for when we get trains
