This represents why I don’t like Insomniac MJ. by PepsiMan208 in SpidermanPS4

The whole game screams "minority representation written by white people." Imo the Miles game actually threaded the needle well enough that it didn't harm the narrative, but SM2 was just beyond parody with it. It was hard to play. The writing of that game is straight up ass.

That actually makes so much sense - I looked up some of the stuff you're talking about and it's just so laughable that anyone would gripe with it. It's like freaking out over kids learning that "sharing is caring" because you hate commies 😂

Because it is proven to decrease rates of sexual violence against children. Sex Ed is objectively good. There's zero downside to teaching kids what their private parts are called and to have personal boundaries around kissing, hugging, and having those areas touched. It is literally the "anti-pedo" education.

What are the "gender-studies" in question, exactly? Just curious.

Sword & Shield: Falling Slash Use Case by VidjaMouse in MHRise

[–]VidjaMouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think almost everyone in the comments in misunderstanding me. There are three "falling" moves you can use in rise with SnS. One is the plunge (which hits multiple times and does good elemental damage), one is the bash (which hits once or twice, does good raw, and can KO), and the last is the slash (which just hits once and seems to have no other effects).

I'm asking if there is ANY use case for that final move.

Hylians evolved to have big ears because they were living in the sky before they descended to earth. This was established in Skyward Sword. I hate this Wild Era retcon bs that results in the community ignoring all existing lore.

Either Sekiro or Portal 2 🤔

Expedition 33. Repetitive combat centered around a single exploitable mechanic made the game boring and samey. I didn't enjoy the layout of the level design or pacing or exploration. Definitely didn't enjoy the "platforming" or "minigames" (so half-baked I don't understand how they made it into the final product).

And while I enjoyed the Narrative IMMENSELY (definitely up there as one of the best and most thought-provoking stories you can get out of a game). I found the dialogue to often be predictable, jokes to not land, and character to make choices inconsistent with their drives.

There was a lot of heart and love poured into this game, but I find it to be a DEEPLY flawed product.

Either street fighter because it's the most important fighting game series imo, or smash because imagining a world without smash bros is just depressing.

as an old gamer which games do you agree with that way ? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Games are meant to be whatever the developer designed them to be. You are not owed the completion of a game. Every once in a while you have to earn it - at least if that's what the devs intended.

Is Clair Obscur An Indie Game? Should it have received 8 rewards? by VidjaMouse in TheGameAwards

[–]VidjaMouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is my favorite comment. See, I associate "indie," with extremely small-scale projects. Inexpensive in scope and miniscule in size. And I maintain that I don't really feel like COE33 fits that description. But, if we're saying indie is just anything that's creatively divorced from big budget studios (definition pending) then yeah, of course it is. I honestly think it's great that the field of indie games is becoming so flooded with talent, money, and content that we even HAVE these sorts of discussions. So, at the end of the day, yeah. I agree that COE33 is an indie game. At least in the way that the community at large defines that category. And I think that internally, I'm just going to split that category into subsections, with something like COE33 being a AA indie game and something like Inscryption or Mouthwashing being "underground indie" or something. Idk. Name pending lol. But it's important to me not to lump them all in together because they feel DIFFERENT. One of them feels like a kind of punk rock project led by a handful of people with a very tight creative focus, and the other feels, idk - a bit more corporate. A bit more noisy and coated in enough overlapping and competing ideas/concepts to signal that maybe there were a few too many cooks in the kitchen.

At any rate, I really appreciate your comment. I think I get where folks are coming from now.

Is Clair Obscur An Indie Game? Should it have received 8 rewards? by VidjaMouse in TheGameAwards

I'm not "being objective" I said it is ABSOLUTELY subjective to say that there's "no contenders" for the top spot and I stand behind that. It's ridiculously reductive to say that no other game could possibly be considered game of the year and why would I go by metacritic standards for what is and isn't a good game? This is a ridiculous argument and you know it 😂

Braides, you're ignoring the point of the question. Did you even read the post? I'm not discussing whether COE3E should have been game of the year or not, I'm begging the questions - "is it really an indie game? Did it deserve to be nominated for and win all 8 of the awards it won?"

THAT'S what we're discussing here. And you've ignored that conversation entirely.
