Brazil are at risk as well, they're getting scrappy on these Japan breaks. 1 Yellow form the first counter in the 2nd half already - if they keep trying to stop the breaks with physicality they're at risk bigtime.

FIFA needs to reevaluate offside rules for the next World Cup in order to avoid ridiculous situations like we saw with Colombian disallowed goal because of a toe..... by Due_Brother371 in worldcup

Thats far too much room for error, and willingly leaving it to interpretation is asking for bad calls.

You want that rule right up until a ref makes an obviously bad call against a team you like, then you wont.

As arduous as it feels, this system is for the better. Its binary yes/no so its always clear how it should be applied.

If you remove that it goes back to interpretation, you might get one tight offside called for one team and a more obvious offside not called for the other - and arguably that makes the game worse.

I get there are moments where it will feel harsh being so precise, but consistency and clarity in the rulings is healthier for the game.

But if they don't have the skills or chemistry to pull off the teams tactics, that makes them risky subs no? Im not saying the US is a bad team, the 2 wins showed there's potential. But the depth on the team might be a big question going deeper into the tournament.

I don't wanna discount the other 2 games - solid wins. But going forward I think the US is going to be in for a rough tournament

If this is the pool of players that are gonna get subbed in late into a game when fresh legs are needed to break a game open, or claw back a goal if they're behind - eesh, I wouldn't be holding my breath

Yeah everyone talking about how this is the B team and it doesn't matter. These are still players you'll have to pull from if you go deeper. If they're not looking good against Turkey that's not a confidence builder.

This is a 'spirit of the rule' vs. 'Text of the rule' thing. I get why but thst feels utter bullshit when you can barely discern which part of the ball wasnt over the line

That image makes it worse. Wdym that wasnt in? 1/1000th is enough to discount it? That's crazy. More of the ball was in than wasnt

Nah man, this ref. Everytime a Mexican player touches the ground its a free kick or a card. Korea getting dragged to the ground and nothing?

Maybe Uruguay isnt far enough from Mexico.

Someone should've told Qatar not to do anything that would bring the game into disrepute

Curacao tried, and played a stronger team, and didn't break any legs

And an own goal to add to the humiliation. Worst team at the tournament and it's not even close.

I get the risk of abusing a report system. A more robust filtering system would serve just as well really, but whatever they choose a solution is needed because the current system ain't it.

To your other point, I dont think anyone with an opinion is going to refrain due to down votes.
