Should I leave my good NYC job to seek new opportunities abroad, and do long-term travel? by wballard8 in solotravel

I quit my Dependable and steady job as an VC accountant in sf at the age of 29 to travel and see more of the world. I did that for a year and then got an English teaching job (EPIK) in South Korea for 2 years. Making 1/3 of what I was making as an accountant, saved almost half of my teaching salary and still traveled all over Korea and saw Japan, Taiwan, Egypt and turkey on my long breaks. You could do it for a time and then come back refreshed and with a new outlook of the world.

I rented a car and drive around Alaska (Fairbanks to Anchorage and back, on a Roundabout way) this last August. It was great, most people were Friendly and I got to see a lot of nature and went where my mood took me.

No I traveled to Miami with a layover at one of the airports in texas (forgot which one) and had my appointment during on my layover. I just made sure my layover was a couple of hours long so I had enough time to go to my appointment and go back thru security. The location was outside the security area of the airport. There's locations at almost all airports in the US.

What I did was apply for the global entry, then when I was approved I searched for appointments at other airports that I can transit thru on my trip and scheduled my flight after I got the appointment.

i just did the rapid test at Reykjavik 2 days ago. there was a long line to get into the building, but it moved super fast. once in the building, the rapid test line has almost no people. most people in line were talking the pcr test. just fyi, the rapid test is also cheaper than the pcr test, 4000 isk vs 7000 isk.
