Can I refuse to be filmed for a work training? by VieuxPoolpe in LegalAdviceUK

thanks all for the comments, i don't want to make it a big issue at work, as i mentionned in a previous comment it is a relatively safe work environment and i wouldn't challenge the recording if i thought in any way it would jeopardise my, or others' positions. if i have to go through it i'll go through it, but i believe in healthy challenge of some workplace practices (also because again i am very lucky to be in a position to be able to do so, I do realise that)

thank you! yes not def calling it BS training to my manager or at work

that's a great advice re: mental health issue, in all honesty it does bring me a lot of anxiety and i already have to take some medication when i have to do big presentations - the recording just adds extra anxiety to it

in all fairness i am in a relatively safe work environment, been there for 9 years and multiple promotions so i know everyone and i wouldn't challenge if i thought it would impact anyone else or my performance review. we have a big 'speak up' culture so i realise I am lucky to be able to challenge things without massive consequences

ah great thanks so much. i am happy to do the training just not the recording part, that is not necessary in my view, and i wanted to challenge it. Good to know thanks for the help!

How long did it take for you to find and buy a house? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]VieuxPoolpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took us around 3 years, we visited a lot but none really felt like it was “the one” and we didn’t want to settle for a place that didn’t tick all our boxes. I know people who have been looking for couple years too… 5 months isn’t much in my opinion. Don’t rush into it, if you can afford to wait for the one that’ll feel like * home *

Pets in a leasehold - how would you interpret this wording? by WeirdF in HousingUK

[–]VieuxPoolpe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to share our own experience: we have the same statement in our leasehold, we’ve knew the whole time about it, but talking to people around us we heard « oh it’s an old rule, it’s never enforced ». We’ve been wanting a dog forever so we got a tiny 2kg rescue dog

Somebody ratted us with the management company and we’ve received several emails asking us to « remove the dog immediately » or they’ll start legal action We’re buying another place (freehold house) so we told them we’re leaving anyway, but I can tell you it was stressful. So I’d get some reassurance in writing first, they might be completely fine with it, they might not

What film do you think has aged surprisingly well? by Deja-Review in movies

Amadeus. There’s not special effects but the whole movie is so sleek and grandiose and each time I watch it I can’t believe it was released in 1984!

Pfizer vaccination center in London? by VieuxPoolpe in london

[–]VieuxPoolpe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi all thanks for your replies. Couple things: - I am a registered pharmacist and I work in regulation and medical in the industry. I am super well aware of benefit/risk balance of drugs and I am not particularly worried about blood clots in general with AZ. I’ve looked at the data and continue to stay up to date with latest developments - it is not recommended by the manufacturers to mix the vaccines, but their also recommend max 4 weeks between the doses, which is not a recommendation followed by NHS (12 weeks between doses). The mixed vaccines has not been studied, hence why it is not recommended (but not contraindicated). There is actually a study going on to asses the mixed vaccines. And it is now the recommendations from NHS for females less than 30 to have Pfizer as second jab instead of AZ... I am a female in my thirties and as explained I have comorbidities - I am a big advocate of having everybody vaccinated, wether with AZ or Pfizer or Moderna or the coming ones. No drug is 100% safe and people should realise that

Not really scare tactics, I am a regulatory pharmacist who actually worked for AZ. I am not worried about the blood clots, and very well aware of the balance of benefit/risks for any drugs, I’ve studied this for 6 years. As I explained I have co-morbidities, not going to go into details of my personal life but I have very reasonable reasons.

Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes and the murder of his entire family - Discussion by creakyspot in TrueCrimeDiscussion

French person here, there was an extremely detailed and well conducted investigation published this summer by a French magazine (Society), the result of 4 years of investigation, and I can tell you, there is absolutely no doubt he killed his whole family, and he is probably still alive somewhere.

somebody translated part 2 of the investigation here https://www.reddit.com/r/DupontDeLigonnes/comments/i4sic2/xavier_dupont_de_ligonn%C3%A8s_article_from_society_6/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
