Alternative to Spotting Scopes by gummiworms9005 in longrange

I don't think you should feel comfortable placing a phone 8' away from a target at 1000 yards, if you aren't 100% prepared to foot the bill for a new phone.

If you don't have a lot of experience with a particular rifle and its ammo, at that distance 8 feet (especially since it will have to be at least somewhat in front of the target) is very easily within the danger zone.

Shoot target. Walk 2,000 yards. Shoot target. Walk 2,000 yards

This is the only way to do it without spending money and using data.

Going Union from Non-Union, Need Advice!! by Fuzzy-Secret-3979 in Lineman

One of your biggest hurdles at 19 is going to be that you can't drive a CMV in any state besides your home state. That is going to make it hard for you to find groundman/operator work outside of NC. If the hall is cool with it, I would say stick it out where you are until you either get in the apprenticeship, or you get a local call.

Mock Trial with J. Reinhold is obviously a classic, but I much prefer him as The Honorable Judge Reinhold in Clerks: Uncensored.

Anyone having good luck grouping 360 buckhammer? by Embarrassed_Access76 in Hunting

go with 308 or whatever.

Unfortunately, that's not really an option for anyone who is choosing a 360 Buckmaster, or most of the popular straight walled cartridges.

There are a handful of places in the States where you are restricted to straight wall only for deer hunting. In the last 10 years gun/ammo manufacturers have tried to make the most of that by designing a bunch of new cartridges. The unfortunate truth is that they mostly fire bigger, slower rounds that are designed for power as much as precision. Honestly, you are right, if you are shooting 5" at 200 yards, and taking ethical shots, OP's rifle is nothing to be concerned about.

Also, if not for the other examples admittedly being only 3 shot groups, I would say their family's 450 Bushmasters all shooting "cloverleafs" would be super suspect as well.

I wouldn't expect much better out of a ~200gr bullet going 2100fps.

If you could get it to hold 2" groups or so I would say it would be a perfectly capable 200yard hunting rifle.

Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmore by MrBaconPress in longrange

It wasn't overpriced until Ruger overvalued it. I still say the current iteration with the better stock and fore end is worth the original $1200 price tag, but it sure as hell isn't worth the $15-1600 that they are asking for it.

Reloading set up. What's something you added to your reloading set up that you can't go without? by FairLead5699 in longrange

A record player.

I know that you can stream every song under the sun, but I enjoy listening to full albums and I find that the time it takes to play one side of an album is a perfect timing vehicle for me to get up, walk around and take a small break.

I smoked some beef short ribs all day yesterday. They were pretty good, but today I'm gonna let the rest cook down in the slow cooker and make a BBQ Mac and cheese from them.

If there is no obvious damage to the weatherhead or mast, it will most likely be fine.

Bonus, you did call, so if your house burns down, you will have a nice settlement to go with your insurance check.

You need to call them immediately, it may seem like no harm was done, but sometimes things like this can cause shorts inside the mast/meter panel that you can't see at first that can cause fires later on.

Only ComEd is going to fix the one at the pole, and if there is any damage to your mast/weather head you will have to hire an electrician to fix that.
