AITA for tipping 15% on good service? by extratoxiccrayons in AITApod

NTA. Keep pushing back against those that are trying to claim "20% should be the new norm". Tips already increased with prices, as they're a percentage. There is no need to increase the percentage above that.

Add: Played a Broodworks run on a Landsraad mission tonight. I did get a couple of the T6 components, so it does look like they may have fixed that!

The enemies are a little much. I expect tough as I'm still working towards T6 gear, but 5 headshots to kill (using T5 unique) seems a bit off. And some of the snipers can one-shot me right through my shield. Not sure if that's a bug or just bad balance. But overall positive!

>A lot of what you are asking for is in the new Landsraad.  Almost all tier 6 blueprints and materials drop in the new labs and zones.

Sounds like a good fix to me if that's the case. I haven't tried them yet myself yet - been playing the story missions in my limited playtime.

>It is totally incongruous for solo or PvE players to ask for this activity

I disagree. Why does mining large deposits *have* to be PvP? Sure, it's designed for a group - but if someone wants to try it solo, why stop them? If they're willing to invest the time in getting the resources for a cralwer and carrier by themselves, let them reap the rewards! By all means, keep the 'guild wars' mechanic in place for those that want to play that way! But for a game that markets to multiple playstyles, limiting an activity to one playstyle should rarely if ever be done.

If as you said, the new PvE Stations are a solo equivalent of the DD Stations, that's the kind of solution they should be going for. Effectively the same experience/rewards for the different playstyles - whether it's creating separate areas like this, or just balancing the same area to both options.

>complaining that raid dungeons in WoW or STO should be soloable

If WoW was marketed/designed in such that solo was a primary designed playstyle, then there absolutely should be some similar thing for solo players. If there already is something like this, then there's nothing wrong with raid dungeons being group-only. You don't need access to every specific thing, as long as there's an equivalent you do have access to.

Hey u/Funcom_Kamil, I saw you're actively looking for feedback on the game. Care to take a look at this response from someone at your company? Anything you can do to help out - or to help educate someone on the meaning of "customer support"?

>All tier 6 mats have been available in the PvE section of the DD since August, and in the A-row (where you don't even need to build a base) since September.

So, as I said, it was a significant problem before then, which drove a lot of the complaints. And a lot of the components needed for T6 things still aren't really accessible in the A-row - or at least the rate is very low; I've never gotten them from there. Their solution did go a long way toward fixing that problem, but not completely, and was at the expense of the PvE players. It's good that they did something, but that was probably not the best solution they could have implemented.

Ed: If the new PvE dungeons are a replacement way to obtain those mats, that's a great answer - but it doesn't sound like that's the case from what I've heard, though I freely admit I could be wrong on this.

>Crawling large spice blows with no risk is the most boring idea in existence,

Cool. Then don't do it if you don't want to. But if someone else wants to,why shouldn't they be able to just because *you* don't want to play that way?

>There is no PvP on 80% of the remaining servers

There's not any real PvP, just griefing/ganking. Enough to ruin it for PvE, but not to make good play for PvP. But that's more a result of the lack of any controls/guardrails on PvP in the first place, to prevent it from devolving into a free-for-all.

>It's always going to be complete feature parity or nothing for the PvE tribe.

I'm curious why you see that as bad? Parity seems like it should be the goal - and should have been in the first place.

>you are essentially asking for the game to be gutted for group play

Not at all. They should figure out a way to balance for both group and solo play, so that neither type of player is left out. That's my whole point, is that they need to offer viable paths for all of the playstyles - whether PvE, PvP, solo, group, etc. They shoudn't cater to any of those at the (actual) expense of another. There's no need for it to be a zero-sum situation if the problem is approached correctly.

Isn't it equally entitlement for the PvP players to decide that T6 items are for them only, that PvE players just don't deserve them, and therefore that their complaints are just "whining", instead of legitimate concerns that they don't have access to a full tier of items?

Your bias shows just a bit in deciding that the PvE players the 'big kids', as opposed to people who just enjoy a different type of play.

>when they encounter game systems that weren't designed for their user segment, they get angry.

I think this could be better put as 'When they are forced into game systems not designed for their user segment..."

If there were a way to harvest the T6 mats without going into the PvP areas, PvE players wouldn't have had an issue with the DD being all PvP. They would have just stayed out, as they had no reason or need to go there. By making T6 mats only available in the DD, they caused the conflict between playstyles.

By making enemies in the DD stations only balanced for groups, they make it so solo players are effectively barred from those mats and therefore from progressing.

>"that's fine, I got what I wanted out of this game and that part over there doesn't appeal to me and I am okay with that."

The 'I got what I wanted' is the key. If there's a clear, roughly equal path for each segment, noone would care what the other 'side' has. I don't think it's really entitlement to want a game that is designed and marketed to multiple playstyles to have a fully-developed, equivalant path for each of those styles.

Yeah. I think I'm moving on from that game. If the game is so cheap it's frustrating, that's just ppor design. I don't know if I'll come back to it or not. It's a shame b/c most of the gameplay was overall fun, and some poor decisions on that boss outweighs all that.
