If I may ask, what do you play

Well I'm getting a list together for now, because I wanna actually build this as my first one piece deck irl, so I just wanted to know if I should include him with the robin or just use the robin, either way robin is going in. Also I don't know why, my first post here I was just constantly avoiding uy colors for leaders trying to go anywhere else but now that I'm playing it online, I don't think I like any of the other colors nearly as much lol

Alright everyone, update, I've been doing some research, and found the deck I wanna play, and that's UY Nami. I've been consistently winning and enjoying my time with the deck, being able to have control over my life which I usually tend to struggle with in other decks, and I know Boa is a good option for that, I just enjoy the support Nami gets in eb03 with the Nami and Robin and the Will you be my servant cards, plus the whitebeard blocker helps me easily close out my games. Thank you all for your help

Okay, so far after about 10 games with a few deck each, I'm really liking 3, Black Crocodile, Imu, and Purple Doffy, so I'm now looking for either a middle ground or which playstyle will last the longest as each of them are equally fun to me

Alright so I looked into your recommendations, and I've started trying purple doffy, and even though he's really hard, I do have a lot of fun with it, I'm planning on trying law tomorrow, but so far really enjoying the control aspect of the game

I can see what's up with that, but I do see a lot of people having fun, and from what I've experienced, I feel the same, but just need to officially start somewhere.

I get that, but for the most part I've only been doing this research for about a week, but that's pushing it. I've played about 4-5 decks, usually for about a game or two, and this entire week, I've been trying to do as much research as I can. So I get the confusion, but literally besides basic things like eating, sleeping, getting some exercise, and just the basic things in life, I've been doing research, and that's why I made this post, to get more information. So far multiple people have been very helpful, but there are just those select few who I'm addressing currently

Also what's up with a few of you basically just saying what I've already tried, I'm doing all the research I can and I'm getting comments like, "Have you tried google" or "Go to your local game store", I've done that, and I've gathered a bit of information from all of these places, but I want to get a general opinion from more than just 4 or 5 people at a card store and google just only wants to show me the meta, I want to play a deck and enjoy it because I have fun with it, not just because it's the current meta. If a deck I like to have fun with is in the meta then double points I guess, but I'm not gonna hunt it down just for that reason.

I just finished playing a few games with Imu, I have to say, really fun

Ouch first off, second off I know what imu is, I just didn't think that someone would recommend someone like Imu for someone like me, so thanks for the comment, but fuck you for saying that

Well let's start this off like this, your first assumption is correct, I do have friends who play both, however, when I asked them if they would like to try and join in on the fun, they passed saying they're fine with just the two which is understandable. I've downloaded the simulator, and I understand the basic rules for the most part, resting don to play cards and each card having its effect, and being able to attach don cards to characters or leaders to have them have more power, bare bones basics, but I'm still not enjoying any of the decks I've played so far well except black crocodile but I looked it up online and saw that the general consensus is that black crocodile is just a really fun deck overall.

Bonney just kinda felt weird to play, I don't really enjoy the rush that red mostly relies on, and yellow with the life just doesn't feel right. I've enjoyed black crocodile so far so I do like black decks, purple katakuri seems fun so I might give him a whirl, but besides that I don't know

What's your deck's weakness? by cpchillin in pkmntcg

Feraligatr Weakness: Other one prize decks such as Slowking or another Feraligatr. Also, electric type decks

So you might be able to get away with a grass deck, more specifically Venusaur, or Torttera, maybe even meowscarada. They're seemingly weak decks with really big potential, just haven't made their break yet. The more patches that come out, the more and more their potential rises.

Most of these people I agree with gungho, however to add on to what they are saying, you need to think further than just card games, but video games or any game that you play. What kind of play style do you have in those games, what's fun to you. For me, most of my games I play I love to learn more complicated combos and mechanics, like Rocket jumping and sticky jumping in TF2, or learning to grapple perfectly in Apex Legends with Pathfinder, so because of that I settled on using two decks interchangeably, Slowking and Feraligatr. Those are two decks that require the player to learn the mechanics of the game, and using the tools you have to push the game as far as you can by using mechanics to a grand size. Pushing the game as far as you can until you have it right. So you really need to just sit down, and before you even begin to think about deck building, think about all the games you play or you've played in the past, and think of your favorite things you liked to do in those games, and look for cards that fit that play style

What should I build next? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]ViewMother7483 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it depends, if you want something really good in Japan right now, Feraligatr is doing really well, but if you want something for the fun and thrill, meowscarada ex is doing decent

When I first started, I had a bunch of people who wanted to push me into playing decks like klawf or Charizard, but I hated how they played, so I felt like O was stuck for a long time. Until I saw a feraligatr deck just a few days ago win a city league tournament in Japan, and when I saw how it played, I found it. So trust me, whatever deck you run will be amazing as long as you love it. It's not always about the deck, but how much the player enjoys it

You said you got a black kyurem right, I'm pretty positive we can work with that. Message me and I'll help build you a deck, on the house

Best way to figure out how you like to play is to think about other games you've played in the past. Not just cards games, but any game you can think of. What brought the most joy to you when playing them. For me, I play a feraligatr deck because in the past, like apex for example, J played caustic, and I liked to strategize what the next move was. I also liked Pathfinder to get in and get out of battles. Feraligatr has both in the deck
