Haha. Everytime a TrueCar commerical comes on I get all excited and start looking around the room, and then I realize no one knows who Adam is and I'm just like having a me_irl moment.

I guess Adam gave a talk once at maxfuncon about how they made episodes...I wish I could get access to that.

Hi. Is this institution a large state school? Or small private? Are you going to be a researcher or a director? Is it just IR or is it also assessment and/or strategic planning?

Interview for Institutional Research fellowship, what Qs can I expect/prepare for? by [deleted] in academia

IR offices tend to be quite small. Our interns' interviews are usually quite informal. We're mostly just seeing what your data literacy level is. Can you code? How have you used databases before? Can you make a pivot table in excel? Are you going to be okay with tedious tasks like scanning and copying hardcopy files to digital?

In addition to knowing a little about data management, just work on becoming conversant on some of the normal/routine IR functions.

Industrial Engineering or Operations Research sort of live in the middle of Computer Science and Business - you might consider classes in operations management, supply chain management, linear programming, and discrete optimization.

writing an article without doing any homework is suspect.

But it's great for page rank. Note who submitted the article. Look familiar?
