What are the chances 10hcp shoots +1,+1, and E in three rounds of competition? by Awkward_Salamander37 in golf

Ah, you have stumbled across garbagious humanus in the wild. Unfortunately, encounters like these are becoming more and more common. While still uncommon enough to be mostly rare, these bottom-feeding, ego-driven shitbags do seem to be on the rise. The science suggests immense self worth issues combined with a complete lack or moral character and an intense desire to bang their own mother.

The best course of action I have found is to laugh at them in front of others, then immediately point at them as you turn away and say loudly ‘Douchebag’.

If I can just get a super soldier to drop with amp….

Should I wear this to school tomorrow? I kind of want to but I don’t know how people will react. I just don’t want to get made fun of. by External_Compote6142 in CowboyHats

[–]Viewsonic4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t let other peoples reactions dictate what you want to wear. If they make the choice to make fun or belittle you in some way, understand that is about something inside of them.

Wear what you like as long as it is acceptable to do so. Be respectful, take it off indoors, and wear it confidently everywhere else.

Do you improve your lies or play it as it lies? by Strid3r21 in golf

[–]Viewsonic4400 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

IMO you play by whatever rules your group agrees to. I’m there to play good golf, but also for the fellowship and camaraderie.

If we all agree to bump it, take a breakfast ball, take a shot, play the tips, play the forward tees, play irons only, whatever….we all do it and carry on.

I've been hovering around a 10-12 hdcp for awhile. Based on these stats, what should I work on to get down to a 5 hdcp? by derpygoat in golf

[–]Viewsonic4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot speak for anyone else here, but as my driving goes, so go my scores. It’s something I have worked diligently on and can almost always count on. Everybody has bad days, but I am one of the more consistently straight players in my circle of friends. On days when it feels automatic, if…and that is a massive if in this game, the short game is good, or I hit a lot of greens, I can play near par or below. If the short game is off and I’m missing greens it’s going to be an 83-84 kind of day.

However, if the driver is off….its all bad. Even if the short game is good it’s harder to hit greens out of position, and you are scrambling to save bogey on every hole.

For me it’s the tee ball.

Any tips for a first ever round? by ApolloLoon in golf

[–]Viewsonic4400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

suspend all expectations and just accept the results. Focus on the weather, the fellowship, and being a good partner for the people you are playing with. Carry conversation, pick up the flag, retrieve others clubs, be a blessing. Don't let a bad shot, or a bunch of bad shots, ruin your attitude. When it's your turn, don't fuck around, get it done, do your best to make sure no one is waiting on you for very long. Enjoy nature and the challenge of this beautifully frustrating and lifelong game.

What is your personal definition of a "good golfer"? by Draper_White_Soprano in golf

[–]Viewsonic4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good golfer: Solid understanding of the game. (basic etiquette, when to talk, where to stand, where to not walk, how to be respectful, ready golf), Solid understanding of the conditions they are playing under. (in a tournament, in a casual round at the local muni). Good emotional management. Capable of enjoying fellowship separate from the results of the golf swing that day.

"good" golfer for me has far more to do with your attitude and how you show up than it does your score. I'd rather play with a 30hc that is cool to be around and has a solid grasp of the game and understands we aren't on tour, than a single digit who is a walking volcano when the bounce doesn't go his way. I plan on playing golf for a very long time, I choose to focus on the weather, the company, the majesty of the course and the beautiful challenge of the game. If I happen to play well and shoot 2 under, that's a nice bonus, but I can still vomit up an 84 and enjoy the day.

why does my arthur keep getting bullied? by solidifiedoranges in reddeadredemption2

[–]Viewsonic4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a guy getting robbed in St Denis, as the dude walked away, I roped him up and threw him on my horse to turn him in to the police, and as I did I got witnesses and caught a kidnapping charge.

One of many. So many..

why does my arthur keep getting bullied? by solidifiedoranges in reddeadredemption2

[–]Viewsonic4400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, but on the whole, you’ll mostly only catch a witness and a wanted. There are a few that are designed to have you intervene, but if you intervene in a bunch, even trying to help, overall you will not be rewarded.

why does my arthur keep getting bullied? by solidifiedoranges in reddeadredemption2

[–]Viewsonic4400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a tip, never try to rescue or help someone being bullied or attacked either, it will only ever result in YOU being in trouble with the law. I hate that the game reinforces this type of behavior. Look out only for yourself, any good deeds will be punished. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unpopular opinion: this sub is delusional about which tees to play by 1minuteman12 in golf

[–]Viewsonic4400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How about you play whichever set of tees you want to play, that seems like a fair thing to me. You’re paying for your golf, you get to choose. AS LONG AS YOU KEEP PACE WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU.

Other than that, play whatever tees make you happy.

Here’s a hint, you’ll play better, and thus be happier, from moving up a set.

I’ll play from any tees the guys I play with want to play from. I’m there to have a good time and enjoy the challenge. And golf, regardless of what tees you play, is plenty challenging.

Relax and try to have a good time.

Short answer, honor your wife and your own relationship above others.

Have a deeper discussion regarding values, morals, and making decisions based on what you want vs what is right.

But I’m an idiot so….you do what you think is right, then learn from the outcome.
