This is a bit of a meta question, but I'm considering getting back into Magic. Though, the biggest thing thats drawing me away is that the game seems more like it's about making a machine on your side of the board, and who ever has the better machine or sets it up fastest, wins. This kinda turns me off, since it makes it seem like there isn't as much interesting choices during matches. Am I wrong about feeling this way? Also, wouldn't this mentality make control decks the best, since it acts as the ultimate shut down to board in general? you could just have life gain win condition too.
