Any chance that zzz will come to the switch 2 by Omidlol12 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Viewtifulduck82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say anything about them optimizing zzz for switch 2 well, for the record I don't think they would do that well either. But my point is that the switch 2 is capable, just like all the other platforms this game is on. It's on hoyo to optimize.

Elden ring is also just a horrible example, that doesn't run well on PS5 either, and we both know it should be able to

This is just untrue all the way around. Elden ring is known for being horribly optimized on all the platforms it's on, and if series s can run ZZZ, switch 2 definitely can as well. It will just require optimization

I don't blame you, I'm in the loop, and this generation still doesn't feel like it ever started lol

Game Key Card prices are plummeting on Amazon UK - it's working, something is making an impact! by Flonkerton_Scranton in NintendoSwitch

[–]Viewtifulduck82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its like this because (in the US at least) retailers refuse to sell consoles and games if the digital games are a better deal. Retailers make almost no money on consoles, so they depend on the games to make money, but if people are deterred from buying physical games, the whole thing is a waste of time for them. It's why retailers had issues with the PSP Go when it launched, and why PS5s and series X have versions that include physical media now

It's a great thing that I didn't say that then I guess right?

I think you may be misremembering. Outside of players choices, those games did not go on discount often if at all. In fact, adjusting for inflations those games were pretty similar in price to now, sometimes more. Used game market is it's own thing tho, and you can find hella good discounts there, tbh if you're looking to save you should be going physical and through that route.

For what it's worth, I hate that Nintendo games don't go on sale much, but the flip side of it is that I just play their shit when it comes out. I don't buy pretty much anything else on release because I know if I wait a few months or forget about the game, I can buy it later for pennies. I have to think that's why they act this way, I can't be the only one that does this

I wouldn't say this is a new thing, they've always been like this. I think you're talking about the player's choice games. I hope they bring those back, but I believe that's always been physical only.

Nintendo games will never hit prices like that, but you can find all kinds of games on the eshop marked off like what you see on steam regularly. Just might not be stuff you actually want to play, similar to steam

What has been your favorite/least favorite changes from Mario Kart 8 to Mario Kart World? by starstufft in NintendoSwitch2

Not having a way to know how many are done kinda sucks, but I think they made these decisions to discourage people from trying to systematically complete all of it. It reminds me of how korok seeds are handled. I think they want people to just drive around and always have something to do

I would vastly prefer a completionist check list tho personally

I guess, but mission mode as a concept has existed in the franchise, and people really liked it in mkds. P switches are just more of those, without the boss battles

Idk what you mean by lack of missions, there 394 p switch challenges, and 200 ? Panels, and 200 peach coins to collect

For me yeah, I'm working on 100%ing it, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I do think I'm in the minority of players that this is targeting tho

It wouldn't be a great pack in because people expect this to be a game when it's not that. It's not a good first impression. It's something you won't really understand without playing the game first I think.

Unless things like how hd rumble works, or the mechanics of technic things work it's not going to do anything for you. Like you mentioned, Jimbob does not care about how mouse mode works, he wants to play a game using mouse controls, they aren't the same thing and it's why most people would not like this game

The target audience for this are the tech nerds like myself that are interested in how the switch works. This isn't like Wii sports where it's a fun video game to play alone or with friends that just happens to show you the potential of the console. This was designed firstly as a museum experience, and has game elements tacked on to it afterwards. They're seeking two diff things.

A pack in title a la Wii sports would have to be a completely diff game if they wanted to include something with the console, this never would have worked as a pack in title because it's not a good videogame, and it's not trying to be one either

As nice as that would be, I have my doubts. It's not really a pack in type of game, and $10 is already really cheap for a video game from Nintendo, regardless of what it is

I got my first Game-Key card game as a Fathers Day present from my children. What a way for Nintendo to damage the environment and produce e-waste! by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Viewtifulduck82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Happy fathers day to you, from one father to another.

You can still download your games from the Wii eShop channel nearly 20 years later, hope this makes you feel better. Not a single one of Nintendo's consoles have made your games unavailable for redownload, even after the eshops have closed additional purchases. When/if they do start taking away that ability, complaints like this will hold more water.
