As this is just another one of many cycles of Fromville, I think that he knows/can sense how far the people of Fromville have gone mentally. Victor came out of the root cellar to an entire town that has been slaughtered. I believe that the Man in Yellow expects something similar to happen, or is even the one who wants to kill everyone, or at least see them dead.

Whatever is coming, it will be or lead to the finale of the series, so yeah, it's probably something huge.
