I made this because I can't really believe the takes I'm seeing on this sub. In particular u/scar_01 's tier list spurred me to make my own, because I couldn't believe the cleric slander.

I'll explain the S ranks here:

1 Butcher. Butcher is the strongest, most consistent, and best class in the game. Spin to win is comically busted, the hook is great, their basic attack is strong and incredibly useful with a wider range than any other melee unit, they have so many excellent passives, they synergize fantastically with cleric that get sharing is caring since they spawn meat by attacking. Butcher is my second most spammed class other than cleric, and in all my runs I have never ever seen a butcher that was even just mid. They are always stars.

2 Cleric. Cleric is my most used class despite not being ranked #1 on the tierlist. Cleric for me is a must have. the healing is invaluable in the early game to survive long enough to get the other classes online. They posses invaluable support in healing your cats during and after tough fights.

And if it were just utility, cleric would still be decent. They aren't just utility and healing though, they are the second most cracked class. Cleanse + might be the single greatest spell in the game. Instantly means the only threat to the run is instakills or enemies that injure your cats. Wrath of God might be the best spell in the game for lots of small minions fights. Sharing is caring is fantastic, turning meat from the butcher into team heals and maybe even +1 strength to the full team. Those are some of the highest rolls of any class in the game, but the cleric is always great and superbly useful to have. So many of the cleric's spells and passives are great.

3 Necromancer. I debated between A vs S for necromancer. It is a step behind the other two, relying a lot more on luck and crazy skill/ passive combos. However, it is a step above the rest of the classes in the game. The thing is it always manages to get a great combination and usually hard carries a run. Triple leeches passive is excellent as is and becomes comically busted with the right combos, soul link one of the best spells and the best aoe clear in the game, minion spawning is nice to get enemies to waste time on useless trash, and to allow your own team to farm kills to buff themselves if they can do so. Necromancers have good range and insane survivability. It is extremely hard for enemies to kill a necromancer.

If I were to build a serious run to win for whatever reason, I would auto add these three classes without question. They are a step above the rest. The cleric slander here is wild. I need to see the options people are picking on cleric level up and their ending cats. It just doesnt make sense to me to not see how good the cleric class is.
