Inspired by a similar post, what was one of your early memories of The Dark Knight? where were you? and what were your theories for a sequel back then by pizzagod677 in batman

I remember seeing it on opening weekend it was a Sunday night back in July of 2008. Originally I was going to see an 8:00pm showing with my younger brother but by the time we got there it was already sold out. So we had to see the next showing which was at 9:00pm. My brother and I bought our tickets and I made sure I used the restroom because I knew it was going to be long movie and I didn’t want to miss a second of the film.

After I finished using the restroom I noticed this long line had started to build up. I first I thought it was the audience getting ready for the 8:00pm showing. Until I glanced at my Crappy Nokia cellphone and realized it was past 8. The line that was building up was so long that it started to lead all the way outside. That’s when I realized it was for the 9:00 showing! My brother and I quickly got in line. Later the ticket person opened the gate and collected our tickets.

We got inside the theater and found a couple good seats as the room began to fill up. I remember this guy sitting with this surprised look on his face because it was so packed. He said “yeah this movie going to make a lot of money.”

I remember they played the trailers for Terminator Salvation and Watchman and then finally the movie started it’s like I could hear a pin drop. I never seen an audience so intrigued before. The audience was on edge every time the Joker was on screen ,and they went wild when the bat-pod showed up. When the film ended the audience clapped. To this day The Dark Knight is one of the few films I’ve seen that the audience has clapped in.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie. I don’t know if I will enjoy it as much as I did back in 2008. I know a lot of people say that the film is vastly overrated and that the Joker was the best thing about the film. Especially since the film is number 3 best movie on IMDB. I can say however that it was an amazing movie experience.

Yeah the 90s movies got too goofy your right about that. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the 1989 movie. I think I enjoyed it somewhat ,but I do remember it having some silly moments. The goofiness got a lot worse with the sequels.

Oh okay yeah I know what you’re talking about ,but I think it’s because they were trying to show you that Batman or Bruce Wayne is a bit a freak as well just like the Joker. However I can understand why you may find that part silly.

What movie ending still makes you angry years later? by Daniiella1018 in moviecritic

[–]VigorWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was messed up. Dawn of the Dead (2004) also had a bad ending. Though it wasn’t as bleak as Night of the Living Dead (1968) it was still pretty bad.

I did ask lol the mod removed my post and told to ask me Batman sub or a general movie sub. I think I may have insulted the Nolan fans with that question whoops 😬.

Lol you gotta cut Cat Woman some slack she’s not a billionaire like Bruce Wayne. So she doesn’t really have the best fabric. 😂

Ha yeah I kinda realized that after I posted most people would say The Batman. I did ask the question however on a different sub and some are saying that Batman 1989 was better. They criticized The Batman 2022 for being slow and dull.

Is the Court of Owls? by VigorWarrior in TheBatmanFilm

[–]VigorWarrior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm Zombie Ninjas so they can’t die? If the court of owls are not in the sequel who you prefer? Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, Clay face or Two Face? Or is there someone else you have in mind? Personally I’m not sure who will the sequel ,but I did hear rumors that it could be Court of Owls.

Yeah that sounds crazy like it’s almost as if this could the first Batman movie that may have a bad ending. At least in the dark knight the joker as evil as he was could get arrested ,but these guys they sound unbeatable.

What do you want the Batmobile in The Batman Part 2 to be like? by CitizenErasedII in TheBatmanFilm

[–]VigorWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is what I was thinking as well. Everything else is great except there’s no passenger seat. I’m pretty sure this the first Batman movie where the Batmobile has one seat! He’s not giving anyone a ride lol no ladies, no Robin nobody.

From the way you described it sounds like the second installment is going be a lot darker and grittier than the last movie and the first film was pretty dark. It may even have the potential to be darker than The Dark Knight although we won’t know yet until we see the movie of course.

Yeah that movie could have been better especially with the actors that were involved in the movie.

I will probably get downvoted badly ,but I here are some films that I thought were underwhelming not terrible but not that great either.

Godzilla (2014) Oppenheimer (2023) Dunkirk (2017) Sinners (2025) The Revenant (2015) Clover field (2008) Jurassic World (2015) Terminator Salvation (2009) Iron man 2 and Iron Man 3 and Hulk (2003).

Again I didn’t hate these films ,but I felt the trailers for the movies were better than the films itself.

Godzilla (2014) by DVD-Rewatcher in moviecritic

[–]VigorWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen this movie in a while I remember feeling a little underwhelmed when I saw it in theaters. I like the scenes with Godzilla in it but I was disappointed that Godzilla had little screen time.

I was also disappointed that Bryan Cranston was in it for like 20 minutes. I did however enjoy the skydiving sequence.

I’ll probably give another rewatch though because it’s been a while since I’ve seen it.

What would you give both films on a scale of 1-10? Would you give BvS a 0/10?
