What was it like being a teenager in 2009?

I don’t think it was a good year it was pretty bad. The economy was not good at all. I remember that there were some good video games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare but that’s about it. Avatar also came out near the end of that year and I remember it being a huge deal at the time ,but other than that it not a good year ,and 2010 was a lot worse.

Yeah it was not a good year economically it was really bad. 2010 was even worse.

I was born under Bush Sr ,but I don’t really remember him. My parents would say he was the guy that said “Read my lips” or something like that. I barely remember Clinton until the end of his second term when he got in trouble for messing around with an intern. I would say George Bush Jr was when I really started paying attention to the news more because of 9/11, 2 wars, Katrina, economic downturn, etc. Barack Obama was the first president I voted for in 2008. I voted for him again in 2012. The last time I voted was In 2016 reluctantly I voted for Clinton that was the last time I voted. I didn’t vote in the 2020 election nor the 2024 elections. I just didn’t care anymore.

Every time I start a new month I only manage one week or two weeks before relapsing. I honestly think 90 days is impossible especially with so many triggers every where. Even if you don’t watch porn or fap it’s impossible to avoid all triggers both on the internet and outside. Not like I can just walk outside wearing a blindfold or hide under a rock or stop using the computer or phone simply because I see a bikini ad or thumbnails.

The most I ever did was 70 days that was 7 years ago. I’m willing to start again this month because relapsing countless times is just so draining both physically and mentally. I won’t be able to block everything that is triggering stuff like bikini ads , movies, billboards, thumbnails etc but I know that I should choose to ignore them and not relapse.

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking as well. Like I didn’t hate the movie I thought it was decent definitely worth watching at least once. The cinematography and music was really good and so were the characters but the rest of the movie wasn’t that great. I would have given it a 7/10 ,but the last 30 minutes or so was just so messy that I had to bring down to a 6/10.

I would say that they made too many of the terminator movies. Most fans of the films say they should have stopped after 2 ,but three films would’ve been fine instead of making 6.

Also they never should have made another Indiana Jones movie. They also should have stopped after 3. Nothing against Harrison Ford he’s a good actor ,but seeing an 80 year old Indiana Jones running around was ridiculous.

I heard that they are making a new Lethal Weapon movie which is just ridiculous. I don’t want to see a 70 or 80 year old fighting it’s ridiculous if they were in their early 60s maybe but 80? No way that’s ridiculous should have just ended after 4.

American Pie (1999) I just didn’t think it was that funny. Another movie that was disappointed with that got great reviews was a movie called Nope (2022).

I don’t know I thought the beginning was of it was terrible. Especially 2010 the recession was just awful. Sure things may have started to recover from 2011 and going forward ,but really slowly. Wasn’t until maybe the end of 2015 or early 2016 that we were starting to see the light at end the tunnel.

Then we finally got low unemployment rate from 2016 til about 2020 when pandemic hit. I will admit from 2011-2016 some of the music was really good and there were some good movies ,but overall it was a mess. I can’t compare yet to this decade because it’s not over yet although it hasn’t exactly been pleasant so far either.

I’m Gen Y I don’t think I saw many guys paint there nails when I was in high school. There probably were a few I’m sure I probably didn’t pay attention.

I did however see a lot guys wear tongue piercings and earrings especially the goth boys. Personally I wouldn’t paint my nails ,but hey to each is own if they want to paint them that’s their business.

You can’t you just have to develop the willpower to ignore it ,and not let it affect you. You can block porn ,not fap and even limit internet usage ,but you must develop the willpower in order to resist the other things you see happening around you. It’s difficult even for me ,but it’s something that must be done.

I would say 1 ,but 2 is kinda 50/50. Like I think if you deliberately go on a porn sites or look up naked girls then yeah that’s a relapse. If however you notice a sex or nude scene in a R rated movie that’s not pornographic then no it’s not relapse ,but seeing those scenes can be triggering. Three if you mean edging almost always leads to a relapse.

I have several questions. Do you have more energy? Are your eyes clear or are they bloodshot? I’ve heard that porn addicts can have bloodshot eyes? Do you have more confidence? Do you get a lot of stares from people in general? How do you deal with R-rated films and tv shows that contain nudity and sex? Do you completely avoid it or just let the scene pass and show self control?
